Trump’s last mad rant cements his disgusting legacy – will he attack Iran?

After the naked malice, the bumbling incompetence, the gleeful ignorance, the spit flecked hatred, the appalling offensiveness and needless cruelty, Trump’s latest rant demanding officials steal the election for him is surely the final rant that cements his disgusting legacy…

‘I just want to find 11,780 votes’: In extraordinary hour-long call, Trump pressures Georgia secretary of state to recalculate the vote in his favor

President Trump urged fellow Republican Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia secretary of state, to “find” enough votes to overturn his defeat in an extraordinary one-hour phone call Saturday that legal scholars described as a flagrant abuse of power and a potential criminal act.

The Washington Post obtained a recording of the conversation in which Trump alternately berated Raffensperger, tried to flatter him, begged him to act and threatened him with vague criminal consequences if the secretary of state refused to pursue his false claims, at one point warning that Raffensperger was taking “a big risk.”

Throughout the call, Raffensperger and his office’s general counsel rejected Trump’s assertions, explaining that the president is relying on debunked conspiracy theories and that President-elect Joe Biden’s 11,779-vote victory in Georgia was fair and accurate.

…to actively pursue officials to steal the election for him has terrified the establishment and seen the Pentagon issue a statement that they do not see any justification for martial law to establish a coup…

Extraordinary warning to Trump by 10 former Pentagon chiefs

In an extraordinary rebuke of President Donald Trump, all 10 living former secretaries of defense cautioned Sunday against any move to involve the military in pursuing claims of election fraud, arguing that it would take the country into “dangerous, unlawful and unconstitutional territory.”

…that would be extraordinary enough, but the decision to urgently recall the Nimitz from Iran suggests the Pentagon are terrified he is going to cause a military strike against Iran in the dying days of his obscene term.

He still has 2 B52s, a nuclear armed submarine and tomahawk missiles from bases, but the call to bring their Aircraft Carrier home urgently shows a military trying to blunt Trump’s madness, not support it.

The world will be holding its breath until the 20th.

  1. The withdrawal of the Nimitz from the Middle East is probably pragmatic: the US military know that aircraft carriers are sitting ducks for hypersonic missiles they have no defence against. (Rather like outdated battleships in WW2 that were almost defenceless against divebombers and torpedo launchers.) Aircraft carriers are useful mobile bases for assaults on nations that can’t defend themselves. That is not the case with Iran, which has been a pariah in American eyes ever since the US puppet Shah Palavi was toppled in 1979. 40 years of unrelenting pressure by the US has consequences, as do the unprecedented murder of an Iranian general a year ago.

I see South Korea has been dragged into the quagmire via its seizure of Iranian assets in response to US demands.

‘As we noted before, the seizure is apparently in retaliation for South Korea’s previous freezing of Iranian assets in South Korean banks based on US-led sanctions. These assets in South Korean banks are commonly estimated at up to $7 billion.’

China won’t allow America to interfere too much with one of its major energy suppliers, so I think we can regard US posturing as all bluff and no action.

Yet another military massive defeat would not go down well with the American public, even if the military-industrial complex would relish the opportunity to sell more weapons to the government in no-competition deals for equipment that doesn’t work particularly well.

I’m sure the US military are awaiting Biden’s installation with glee. With a five-decade history of warmongering, he’s their man. It’s all a matter of choosing the right target of course. Myanmar, perhaps -I believe there are some undeveloped oil fields there. Or some other moderately resource-rich nation that has a no significant defences.

    • I’m predicting Biden re-commits to “freeing” both Syria and Afghanistan in order to restart the Cold War with Russia. New milrary bases and anti-missile defence grids will also be installed in Europe along the Russian border for the same reason. The Democrat war-mongers (e.g. Biden and Clinton) are obsessed with Russia for some reason.

      • ‘The Democrat war-mongers (e.g. Biden and Clinton) are obsessed with Russia for some reason.’

        1. Other than brief periods when the US needed Russian bodies to be sacrificed in the defeat of Germans (1941 to 1945), when wholesale looting of Russia was possible 1991-1997), and when they thought they could take over Russia via WTO etc. in the early 2000s the US has been anti-Russia since the mid-nineteenth century, seeing Russia as a threat via conquest.

        2. Russia has enormous resources, being by far the biggest nation on Earth.

        3. The Pentagon needs a bogeyman to justify massive spending on military hardware, personnel and bases etc.

  2. well, why not? Trump is an entertainer and thinks the presidential office is a TV show. Yeah bomb Iran and let the end credits roll. The only
trouble is, this is real life with consequences.

    • The entertainment is a distraction technique.

Trump is a NYC scrapper. Do you really think this is over? Believing that suggests trust of the media who have been weaponized to run a strategy of global humiliation for Trump and those around him since before the 2016 election.

I think we are about to see a historic upset just prior to inauguration day as Trump waits for the last minute and plays the buffoon in the meantime to sell it to those watching. Even if this does not happen he has indicated he will start a media network giving him a different form of power.

    • Yep orange man bad whether it’s war, covid deaths or grabbing women by the pussy, take your pick Off White

  3. Martyn,
Have you been living under a rock, you seem to think that DJT is the problem that the MSM has been telling you for the last 4 years. FFS sleepy Joe is a corrupt warmonger with the Moral compass of a snake and you can bet on the Industrial War Machine kicking off in the first 6 months. Stop focussing on DJT raise your head smell the air the swamp is rank and filthy and about to deliver what the elites want more corporate welfare with a cut for Hunter and his family. I bet you don’t post this more suppression of opposing veiws

  4. Will Trump attack Iran ? No but Biden probably will to appease the military industrial complex and others who stand to gain from any middle east conflict ( Israel ) and the those secret donors who funded his campaign and pressured the Democratic party to dispose of Bernie.

  5. Agree with you Afewknowthetruth. Joe Biden is a hawk with close donor ties to defense industry giants. His nominee for DOD sec. former army General Lloyd Austin sits on the board of Raytheon. He retired from active service in 2016 which would contravene the seven year stand down period normally required for DOD appointees. After former General James Mattis was nominated a waiver by the congress under
Trump enabled Mattis to take up the position. The Dems criticised this appointment strongly but now under
Biden appear set to do exactly the same. The separation of military via a civilian DOD sec is based in the historical belief that a civilian sec tempers any potential for a military coup. A waiver has only happened once before under Harry Truman in 1950 with George Marshall [The Marshall Plan post WW2].
The Dems are a far right political party and under Bidens ‘return to normal’ and his extensive appointments of former Obama staff, the ‘team’ that delivered Trump could see the Dem- led congress struggle in the 2022 mid term elections.
The US empire is always plotting their next political overthrow or manipulation and they target with impunity weaker states that offer resource wealth or have successful antidotes to the corrupt capitalist order. The US Dem party is incapable of representing Americans who hold true progressive beliefs and the call for a ‘third party’ is growing stronger but the pushback from the establishment is obstructive.
An outgoing Trump is the least of the worlds worries. The US justice system has Trump in their sights led by the Republican ‘never Trumpers’ who want their pound of flesh along with everyone else.
The stakes could never be higher but on Capitol Hill it is all about the ‘game’.

    • The military-industrial-financial complex isn’t worried about Sleepy Joe falling asleep at the wheel. They already have plenty of hands on the steering wheel. And a president who doses off every few minutes would probably be an advantage to them. Just as long as he can sign the documents when required, and keep the masses deluded and compliant via patriotic speeches, that’s all that matters.

Speaking of hope when there isn’t any would be useful to the MIF complex (as per O’Bomber’s ‘Hope and Change you can believe in’), as would keeping very quite about the biggest bubble in all of history [that is about to burst].
