Actual Green Party Caucus in progress

So the deadline has been set.

Labour + Greens announce possible relationship Friday and the Green Leadership take the crumbs they’ve been offered by Labour to their members where Marama and James will sing Cat Stevens ‘Father & Son’ to a membership demanding transformative change…

It’s not time to make a change
Just relax, take it easy
You’re still young, that’s your fault
There’s so much you have to know
Find a girl, settle down
If you want you can marry
Look at me, I am old, but I’m happy
I was once like you are now, and I know that it’s not easy
To be calm when you’ve found something going on
But take your time, think a lot
Why, think of everything you’ve got
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not

…and we will find out on Sunday whether or not the tofu crumbs they’ve been offered are worth their acquiescence.

Let’s hope for the sake of the housing crisis, the inequality crisis, the poverty crisis and the climate crisis that those tofu crumbs are worth it.

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice going into this pandemic and 2020 election – please donate here.

  1. ‘Let’s hope for the sake of the housing crisis, the inequality crisis, the poverty crisis and the climate crisis that those tofu crumbs are worth it.’

Maybe worldwide dismay and condemnation will spur Jacinda to do something:

‘The United Nations has described the housing shortage as “a human rights crisis”. “They allowed the perfect storm, and that’s successive governments, UN special rapporteur on the right to adequate housing, Leilani Farha told the Guardian during a visit to New Zealand this year.

She was surprised that New Zealand had such entrenched issues with homelessness, housing affordability and poor-quality homes despite its progressive left-leaning government led by Jacinda Ardern.

Farha visited an Auckland marae that has housed homeless families, cramped motels in the Hutt Valley, near Wellington used as emergency housing, and boarding houses she described as “deplorable”.

  2. “worldwide dismay and condemnation”.. And then the coup de grace, “She was surprised that New Zealand had such entrenched issues with homelessness, housing affordability and poor-quality homes despite its progressive left-leaning government led by Jacinda Ardern”.. Are these people really that shallow?… Nine years, count ’em…NINE YEARS of exploitation by an American operative, protected by both the Murdoch press, the colonial press, and the heavy hitters within the Obama administration… Namely Joe Biden for one… THAT had no part in creating the biggest property bubble this country, and most other countries have ever seen?… This is just the same tired old bullshit the tory press uses every time a government is elected to try to clean up the mess left behind by the tory/colonial exploiters… “they aren’t fixing it fast enough, get rid of them!!”.. Different year, same old shit… It’s all so boringly predictable, self serving, and utterly transparent….
