         If we are going to follow Brownstains “it’s just interesting” narrative, we should seriously consider the following.

         National knows the ONLY hope they have of getting any traction at the polls is if they can undermine the Government handling of the pandemic and reduce Ardern’s 93% approval rating. This is EXACTLY why National dreamed up the homeless man living it up in quarantine BS, the UK sisters hugging on the Auckland motorway and of course the despicable release of private details of Covid patients to the media. These were the desperate acts of a political party with only one pathway into Government. Todd Muller would use the words shambles and shambolic at least a dozen times in almost every media interview about the Government pandemic handling. Then with National languishing in the polls just weeks out from the election, the virus suddenly and mysteriously appears in the community. I spoke about this possibility the same day Collins took over as National Party leader. Rather than waiting for the experts to investigate the origin of the community spread, National immediately ramped right up their attacks on the Government exactly as if Ardern herself has gone into the community with Covid spray and has spread it onto a Pacific Island family etc. No evidence required. Just the perspective of an extremely desperate Judith Collins and a vested interest National Party. She even spouts off about border staff contacting her and claiming certain things without a shred of evidence being produced. The people could be imaginary or card-carrying members of the National Party or genuine people that have been totally misquoted. We are expected to take the word of a desperate woman who an entire chapter of “DIRTY POLITICS” is devoted to. We also have National Party cheerleaders masquerading as journalists following Chucky’s lead and relentlessly attemptting to undermine the government pandemic handling with their incessent line of questioning. If nothing else they are looking for anything to feed their editors. If anyone is even remotely interested in “vested interest” you will struggle to find a better and more overt example anywhere on the planet than those involved in this “story”.

         As for Winston Peters. His treasured party along with his legacy is without doubt on it’s way to the nearest landfill. Winston will say ANYTHING to appear “relevant”. He will turn on his own Government if he thinks there is 50 votes in it. The same man stated we should be opening a bubble with Australia including Victoria. Nek minute. He was unmistakably referring to the despicable Facebook slur relating to the daughter of the family that started the cluster having broken into a quarantine facility to be with an Australian deportee. He couldn’t have been referring to anything else and nothing other than that has come to light. Winston is losing what little respect he had left but clearly feels desperate times call for desperate measures. Most of NZ can’t wait to see the back of him. Anything he says between now and election day needs to be taken with a truckload of salt.
