The Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust says it did not breach the privacy of Covid-19 patients, despite National Party stalwart Michelle Boag claiming she received the now-leaked data as acting chief executive of the trust.
Helicopter Trust chairman Simon Tompkins, in statement issued Wednesday morning, said the trust had reviewed how it protects patient information and “that none of this patient information has been subject to any privacy breach”.
The trust has become embroiled in a political scandal after Boag – a National Party campaign organiser – revealed she had leaked the details of Covid-19 patients to National MP Hamish Walker, who then passed the information on to media outlets.
Boag on Tuesday evening said she received the information in her capacity as acting chief executive. She has resigned from the acting chief executive position and as a trustee of the helicopter trust.
‘“The breach which has been admitted by Ms Boag was of an email that was sent to her personal account. As an administrative resource, Ms Boag has never had access to any clinical or patient data held by [the trust].
Police Minister Stewart Nash has stated that he believes other National MPs knew about this, which drags us all back to the possibility that this was dirty politics.
National know the only way they win in September is if the virus gains community transmission and they are able to point to a lapse in security and paint it as Jacinda’s incompetence.

They’ve already tried this with the fake homeless man who supposedly gained a free 5 star hotel stay and they’ve did it by releasing that information about the the two infected women who travelled to Wellington.

On Saturday, before they knew Walker’s involvement, Muller and National’s health spokesman, Michael Woodhouse, were damning of the privacy breach.
“This is unconscionable and unacceptable that those suffering from the incredibly dangerous virus now have to suffer further with their private details being leaked,” Woodhouse said.
Muller told RNZ the breach was “quite staggering” and “unacceptable”.
“Is it a deliberate leak or is it accidental? It doesn’t really matter at a level … it’s loose, it’s shabby and it’s a reminder these guys can’t manage important things well.”
…so was this a malicious attempt to use personal information to manufacture a smear?

Michelle Boag, Image Consultant, needs to go on Breakfast on One tomorrow and talk to John Campbell. She can charm Campbell, Campbell will give her a fair hearing and she can leave the political scene with dignity intact.
She simply cannot let her image, nor the National Party’s image, be tarnished and sullied by the innuendo, speculation, abuse and lies whizzing around the voters of New Zealand.

If the information was properly sent to the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust and even though it says its safety protocols were not breached, could Boag in her position still have accessed it herself in breach of those protocols and sent it to herself on own private e-mail address? It will be interesting to learn where the e-mail to Boag came from and what was said in it.
Boag has taken over from the horrible Cameron Slater because National need a nasty attack dog like him to do their dirty work. I hope she faces criminal charges but because of her position and political connections I fear that she won’t because those political connections will kick in to protect her.

But wait, from what I understand, the list was sent to the Auckland Helicopter Rescue Trust for legitimate reasons and it was stored by the Trust securely which says its protocols were not breached. I presume lists of this type were being sent to the Trust throughout all the lock-down stages so why would the person who sent the list legitimately to the Trust suddenly decide to send it unlawfully and unsolicited to Boag through her private e-mail address knowing that they risk being identified, fired, possibly prosecuted or sued, having their reputation destroyed and subsequently not ever being trusted by anyone including prospective employers again? It does not make sense to me.
So Boag is siting reasons for what she did, justification you might say. I say Boag is trying to dig herself out of one big canyon.
Make this public or lay a complaint with authority’s.
There must be someway to make this well known outside social media.

Boag is said to have been behind the Muller leadership coup. Boag was also managing Kaye’s election campaign. So her elevation to deputy leader fitted nicely.
One thing the National Party was previously good at, was managing perception – which as we know, is a big part of politics.
Why is it , then that Boag, supposed master of the game, screws up so regularly in the PR stakes? Perhaps it’s because true intentions have a habit of coming out.
Kaye has said that National have a “moral duty” to win the election. Excuse me? With the morality the party displays – has always displayed – I do hope the New Zealand electorate will give them short shrift at this coming election in September.
He went to a Democratic Party rally at the same time to observe Hilary Clinton’s presidential candidacy confirmation, which is why he also had Democratic Party paraphernalia on display. He was part of the NZ delegation for the International Democrat Union’s annual conference.

What is the significance of the country of origin to racists?

If you are the head of the body where this information was leaked from and you want to find the culprit responsible, find the racist, find the person who has expressed antipathy to the same ethnicities singled out by by Hamish Walker.
