With a bit luck, after seeing what happened in countries like Italy and because the vast majority of New Zealanders have heeded the advice of our Public Health advisors, we have manage to keep the rate of infection and deaths from Covid 19 low.

As we move to Level 3 on Tuesday let’s be aware that while more movement is allowed the level is labelled “restricted”

If you are unsure what is allowed and what is not – here is the link to the Minsitry of Health page giving you all the information.

Let’s keep up the good work. Le’s keep doing out bit .Let’s avoid a second wave of this thing.

Stay safe.
Stay home if you can
See you tomorrow

Bryan Bruce is one of NZs most respected documentary makers and public intellectuals who has tirelessly exposed NZs neoliberal economic settings as the main cause for social issues.

  1. “Let’s avoid a second wave of this thing.”

And how do we get a second wave Bryan if it came from outside our borders?
How do we get a second wave if 2weeks let alone 4 weeks is well past it’s incubation period?
How do we get a second wave if JUST those proven already infected stay isolated from the rest of us?

You stay in your bubble mate. Some of us have work to do.

    • If you stop listening to that little voice in your head, the one that is telling you to annoy the crap out of as many people as you can, and look at all the medical expertise online freely available, then you wouldn’t spout on with your neo lib bullshit and neo lib crap. Your an insult to human intelligence, made worse by insulting BB who actually knows his shit.

  2. How is it still spreading from existing cases after 5 weeks of isolation and lockdown.. 350 active cases can’t be controlled and 5mil people put their lives on hold.

  3. Luke Malpass a right wing political editor from Stuff in yet another attempt to undermine Jacinda Adern quotes Auckland’s Simon Thornley,
“Lockdown was appropriate when there was so little data…but the data is now clear, this is not the disaster we feared and prepared for. Elimination of this virus is likely not achievable and is not necessary,”
FFS how illogical can a supposed intelligent academic be? Does he not consider that the regulations put in place by the government and adhered to by most New Zealanders may be the reason why covid-19 hasn’t turned out to be as bad as we feared? His logic is very Trumpian.
Malpass also quotes that medical expert David Farrar saying that elimination of the virus is almost completely unlikely. That’s what elimination means.
Professor Michael Blakely, a real expert, draws a distinction between elimination and eradication using as an example the poliomyelitis virus which has been eliminated in New Zealand so that a new case of polio would be extremely rare, but eradication means that it no longer exists, something which has not yet happened.
I’ll be glad when pontificating pseudo experts are eliminated from the media but I guess eradication is too much to hope for.

    • “His logic is very Trumpian.”

Ohh…the usual lefty “go too” when they have been found 100% wrong…blame someone else. Trump did it! lol
      Labour Knee jerk reaction …..complete

  4. The scientists were warning that if during testing of communities if a 100% free of Cocid 19 is found the most important take-out from this perfect “no covid 19 infections” will signal that the test kits are faulty.

Caution should be taken here Jacinda; – do not be found using faulty test kits here when today you clearly were bristling with satisfaction thhat the figures from all 200 “portable testing sites all came back 100% sowing no infections.

You may worry that the test kits are actually fualty here???
