Mediaworks vs Spinoff – who’ll get sued most and go broke for being woke?

My guess is that the very strict contract that DWTS makes everyone sign is very, very, very strict.

Very.

So the decision by Mediaworks to unceremoniously dump Hannah Tamaki because of woke backlash on Twitter will be one fraught with the possibility of legal action.

She signed the contract in good faith, she has not once said anything public to breach that contract and Mediaworks simply ended it.

Mediaworks could argue that Jevan’s jaw droppingly offensive comment equated to a breach of contract by a proxy of Hannah’s so they might be able to protect themselves with that defence, but my guess is that Mediaworks could be facing a very angry Hannah Tamaki in Court.

Likewise, The Spinoff could be facing an enormous defamation case the millisecond the election is over.

The Spinoff’s Whaleoil level hit job on Labour with their sex assault story defamed many top level Labour staff members and while none of them want to proceed with action before the election because it will drag the issue back into the media spotlight, I’m guessing the second after the election they will be served and realise that defamation law in NZ is brutal.

Tough times ahead for Mediaworks and the Spinoff if things get legal. They should be setting up their Givealittle defence campaigns now.

  1. I hope to fuck the Bishop and Hannah see the publicity in this in the campaigning run up to the election! Watch the Wokes go to court to protect their prejudice and righteousness! No chance against the Bishops Barrister, God!

  2. The woke media are a pain in the butt and don’t seems to represent real life working class values at all, except perhaps for the most inner-city w/c wokes. I don’t want to see defamation cases or this country go down a US-style litigation frenzy, I just want the media to represent the real social norms of everyday kiwis rather than the outraged woke version.
