I am always genuinely taken aback when I hear or read the malice some seem to have towards the Prime Minister’s infant child, and Neve appearing at Ratana this year seems to have triggered some of our more snowflake older white males into fits of foaming anger.
The rage that Neve manages to inspire in so many older white males is as far as I am concerned, a real red flag for psychopaths, it’s akin to torturing kittens or bed wetting while wearing sandals and socks, seriously if the PMs baby angers you THAT much, seek professional help.
Don’t start me on the ‘but what about John Key’s kids, the left had a crack at them’ – they were much older and in Max Key’s case, he actively went out of his way to say some dumb stuff and was promptly criticised for that, but Neve is a bloody infant for Christ’s sake and is in no position to offend with her mere presence.
The deep sexism that seems to believe a Mother should never take her child anywhere permeates much of the criticism thrown at Neve. It’s ugly and borders on the hateful, come on chaps, you want to criticise Jacinda, go right ahead, but leave her baby out of it huh?

It’s not the kid that people are having a go at, it’s her mum.
On day one Jacinda told us the child would be kept out of the limelight and her privacy was paramount. Yet on a regular basis the child is trotted out like a theatrical prop. Many are guessing there will be a wedding planned in the run up to the election in order to garner the votes of bewildered women who read Women’s Weekly. It’s the only really transparent thing about this government so far!

I have long hair which I tie back. If John Key even whilst he was part time prime minister of New Zilland pulled my hair I would probably react in self-defence and hit him where it matters. I would be charged with assault whereas Key would get away with his actions.
Did any National MP whilst Key was prime minister say to him that his sexual and deviant harassment of females was unacceptable? Nope. I am sure even Paula Bennett kept her mouth shut when he(Key) was playing with ponytails.
Lets remember too Max Key yelled out at some people of bicycles in Newmarket and yet there was hardly a peep from the mainstream NZ media about that behavioural problem.
More of a fuss appears to have been made by old white males who probably view females as needing to be seen and not heard and who think females should be in the kitchen and not in the Beehive.
What an unruly bunch these old white males have turned out to be. I doubt their mums(the females)are to blame. Lets direct their behavioural problems upon their fathers who probably used violence to get their way.

Yes Martyn you are so right. They are the ones who do not and cannot tolerate younger women who are intelligent, leaders and inspirational as Jacinda is and so many like her are so they attack them for any reason they can find, like taking their children with them to an event. They would attack Jacinda if she left Neve at home in the care of her partner. They attack her because she has the smarts that they don’t have.
What does their attitude, which you have highlighted, say about their own intelligence? Not much really. Perhaps more importantly, what does it say about the relationships they have with their own daughters and other young women and young people generally who feel passionately about the issues which affect all of us, like climate change which was recently highlighted so clearly by the Australian bush fires?
They refer to us as snow flakes so it is good to see you firing that term back at them because for them it is an epithet that is most apt. I guess the good thing is that it is the young of today who will become our future leaders. The older white males who choose to criticise (and not all of them do) have never really achieved anything except of course incandescent rage over the fact that they have been overtaken and left behind by the young. They are like parched leaves lying around making the place look messy. No one takes any notice of them anymore and then someone comes along and sweeps them away.
What amuses me is that Neve is running around in front of the dignitaries. But probably most of them have their own mokupunas but they have not bought them along!!!

The good thing is that there are many older men like you. Unfortunately there are too many who aren’t. Those who are not in that category love to criticise Jacinda and other younger woman who lead and inspire. The very same young women who love their children.

Exactly. Our society is the wrong way around. All that we’re doing, really, should be for the children, for the future. Our whole way of living needs re-shaping, somehow.

Ratana and the occasion being celebrated is such an ideal place to take little Neve its a very spiritual place.
