Australia may be nasty to many NZrs but tend to treat their workers better than we do. NZ under neolib happily adopted by the National Party has concentrated on reducing wages so we are cheap and nasty, quite often.
Our volunteer firefighters need to ask for the same ‘consideration’ from NZ government as has been offered to volunteer firefighters in NSW – up to $6,000. I don’t know if this includes the NZ professional firefighters that were over there working in the fire zones for many days. Do we pay for that?

Poor people of the world. We are always at risk from those who would take the necessities of our lives so they can make a profit from them with as little payment to us as possible.
So sad to be a poor person trying to live a life of busy purpose with time for work, for food, for a house, and a supportive family and enjoyment. Simplicity is despised by the technology-mad, which is the dominant meme and continual craze.
The North Korean fishers in this story have it hard while the peacocks of each country scream competitively at each other.

Author Paul Mason says the world order is being ripped to shreds by an alliance of ethnic nationalists, women-haters and authoritarian leaders who are harnessing the power of machines and algorithms to do it.
