‘Seriously bad taste’ – a recuperating Winston Peters on Paula Bennett’s flowers

National Party Deputy Leader Paula Bennett sent Winston Peters flowers to his hospital bedside while he recovers from an operation on his leg.

Peters responded with a tweet, calling Bennett’s actions “seriously bad taste”.

Winston’s Flowers are Politically important.

Being old school, Winston carries grudges. He is hateful towards those National Party MPs he holds accountable for leaking his Super over payment.

Paula Bennett is one of those MPs. Simon Bridges beat Winston in Tauranga so there’s bad blood there as well, if National have any chance of cutting a deal with NZ First post the 2020 result, it can’t be and won’t be under the current leadership of National.

Which leads to the simple question, who could Winston cut a deal with?

The answer is Judith.

Collins and Peters are old friends and Collins people certainly let it be known that only she could cut a deal with Winston when they were agitating behind the scenes to destabilise Simon’s leadership.

Winston’s flowers become politically relevant when it’s Judith who sends them.

  1. Bad and poor taste I hope Winstone sues her arse her and the other One tolley both of them should not be allowed to get away with this serious breach of privacy and they should shut their mouths about the recent culture and heritage breach cause they were the masters at doing this ( breaching peoples privacy)

  2. Ardern and co need to go into the next election knowing exactly where Peter’s intentions lie. If he is not fully committed to keeping the current government and is offering National a glimmer of hope. I would hope Jacinda cuts him aside now. If Winston is not proud of this governments performance, bugger off now, and let Jacinda announce an election straight away. I have no doubt Labour and the Greens would win a snap election on their own, even if we have not been as progressive as many including myself would have liked.

  3. plus 100 Mickey I would like to see the same thing happen and your right our PM needs to ask him what is up now so there is no surprises come election
