  1. What a bloody laugh as I woke up today (sunday) 28th july to see lamless Simon Bridges saying “I believe in climate change is a real threat to our nation” to Tova O’Brien, and then he tries to nail the point home by saying “we have three electric cars”!

If that incredible statment wasn’t enough, then he says about the National Party policy was to build new roads????

    What the fuck@@@@@

Is he brainless? it would seemas he is as more roads are nkt the way forward to lower the climate emmissiomns usoing more rail is as rail uses six times less fuel to move the same amount as trucks do, and rail uses no tyres and only “steel on wheels” for lowfriction and only steel particulates emissions.

Vehicle tyres emitt large amounts of tyre dust pollution made from ‘oil distilates’ similar to plastic, that cause cancer and nervous system damage, with 1,3,Butadience styrene, https://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/MMG/MMG.asp?id=455&tid=81 so grow some brain Simon as you are once again showing your ignorance.

    • I watched Caleb Maupin in interview today (YouTube, 2019) saying that some municipalities in the states are digging up asphalt roads and converting them to dirt roads, due to lack of finances. This is the rich old US here, the civil vanguard, and it will only get worse as oil and products become scarcer. EV offroaders or EV suspension systems could offer opportunities for growth?

  2. Social Development

I’m starting to get googly eyes from the amount of times I roll them after seeing Carmel Sepuloni give an interview. On The Hui today (Three, 2019) she stated that denial was the first stage of the welfare advisory shakeup (3 of 42 implementations) while the second stage would be discussion. Ah, discussion of what? How not to proceed? How not to run a ministry? Her biggest clanger came when Mihi pressed her on why only 3 of the recommendations from the Advisory group had been actioned, and her reply? It might upset the tax system. Now either she has been sitting around the campfire with Cullen singing economic kumbayahs too often or she cares more about financial speculation than she does the actual people of this country. Yes there will be a mighty financial meltdown if beneficiaries are given one more cent per week. Like the financial bailout the South Canterbury Finance gamblers got which amounted to more than all that Maori have received from 250 years of grievance. That sort of meltdown. To add insult to injury, footage of Sepuloni from a couple weeks ago showed her shouting at clients outside the WINZ office who had been waiting there all morning (all that was missing were German Shepherd’s at her side and transport rail wagons in waiting). Her message to the mostly indigenous audience? “I know some of you have complex needs”. How patronising and insulting is that? It’s your fault you are in this situation beneficiaries, it’s your fault the state doesn’t give you enough to live on. You have ‘complex needs’, which is a euphemism for vice or illness. Well I’ll tell you what my complex needs are Sepuloni, after working my entire adult life and finding myself on the benefit after the Christchurch earthquake, I want the money I have invested into this country via taxes and service paid, without question, and without your ministry’s bullshit. I haven’t got adequate references in my CV but I am trained as an information public servant; I want access to employment in the public sector (I can’t be any worse than the right-wing knuckle draggers currently employed). Lastly I want an apology from you for paying for your mother’s benefit fraud from 2003 to 2011 (you can write off the last few years of her benefit fraud as ‘complex needs’). These are my needs.

  3. Another social emergency was identified this week, that being the rise of the piss head baby boomer. It’s the elders’ turn to take a hit from the do-gooders this cycle, who after being bombarded with guilt for operating a combustion engine, eating salt or fat or sugar or meat, owning a rental or a dog or a gun, having a point of view, unloading on social media, having a certain shape or look or ancestry, or just being a certain age, could probably do with a drink. So the 50+ have a wine (or god forbid it turns into two wines) with dinner each night and this is a national emergency? Binge drinking, hospitals overrun,…maybe an increase in bedroom sado masochism? Should we start to dob in the dear old neighbours? Hell they seem harmless in their aprons and gardening gloves, but how do you know that stagger is not the bad hip but too many nip? And information on day drinking septuagenarians could come in very handy to medical researchers, if not someone else in the nosy network, wink wink, nod nod. I suppose these reports help when looking for research funding, and it gives the autocue readers on the telly something to do, ratcheting up the threat level on every godamn news article day after day. Truth tell, I can’t wait to reach my golden years, sit on the porch on a warm summer evening, pop that bottle cap, and guzzle that cold beer down.
