Launch of the Aotearoa / NZ Anti-Capitalist Green Front

In the fight against climate catastrophe, we are impressed and
encouraged by the movement that Extinction Rebellion is building.

We are encouraged by the ability of Extinction Rebellion to call people
onto the streets and push their demands to halt climate collapse.

However, we believe that meeting these demands will not be possible
without abolishing capitalism, a system reliant on the total
exploitation of nature.

We must also critique the false solutions offered by ‘green capitalism’
and increased state control.

We do not have faith that capitalists, or their parliamentarian
representatives, will act in time to limit climate change in a
meaningful way.

We must take control of our energy and production systems to create a
new model of equality between peoples and harmony with nature.

We are calling for a broad anti-capitalist environmental movement.
Hopefully this Anti-Capitalist Green Front can be an alliance of groups
and individuals united by a belief that capitalism is the core cause of
the environmental crisis threatening us all. To these ends we are
setting up the Aotearoa/ NZ Anti-Capitalist Green Front. We are
initially testing the waters by putting up a Facebook page with a
website to follow. Hopefully these will act as a gathering place for
people and resources, with the aim being for people to set up their own
local groups.

We want to support XR as a separate organisation, but with a parallel
mobilisation that has a greater focus on the capitalist roots of climate
catastrophe.

  1. Who are you?

Another Politburo of long-tie activists dribbling at the mouth at the thought of gaining power for themselves and destroying everyone else, like all so-called movements on the far left?

Names please. What have you achieved in life, in NZ or elsewhere? How do you intend to constrain the activity of New Zealand’s free and hardworking citizens for your own benefit? Are you going to whip us with fern fronds until we all fall into line?

    • Assumptions are interesting and varied.

Might talking about policy be a fruitful exercise.

Defending BAU and more of the same old shit may not be intended.

What is wrong with activism aimed at pubic and environmental good.

      • “Assumptions are interesting and varied.”

        OK.

“Might talking about policy be a fruitful exercise.”

Yes, it might be. But I still want to know who wants to control me and why.

“Defending BAU and more of the same old shit may not be intended.”

What is BAU, some faction of the NZ Communist Party?

“What is wrong with activism aimed at pubic and environmental good.”

Nothing. But I want to know who is doing it and where the money is coming from because it could be the Russians, or the Eskimos for alll we know.

  2. As long as this movement has nothing to do with the NZ Gweens, it’ll have a chance, of not getting fuck’d up and turning into a steaming turd like everything else the gweens are involved with.

    • The New Zealand Greens have shown themselves to be pushovers when it comes to environmental protection: Kermadecs, etc.

The Greens can’t even live up to their reputations as being far left communists, which they are called by people who see what a failure they’ve been on the environment: look at the Capital Gains Tax capitulation!

What ARE the Green Party doing and standing for? All I hear is hate speech this, online that. Can you fill me in about what set of election promises these calls tie into? Why are they so motivated on this issue, and not what they campaigned on? I can’t figure it out.

      • All I hear is hate speech this…

Quite possibly, Ben because hate speech is a problem. Just ask all those minorities, woman, leftists, etc, who’ve been violently assaulted, and in some cases murdered, by people who first became radicalised by hate speech.

Hate speech radicalisation is a powerful thing, Ben. Never underestimate it’s power to corrupt the minds of the impressionable, disaffected, lonely, angry, et al.

        • “hate speech is a problem. Just ask all those minorities, woman, leftists, etc, who’ve been violently assaulted, and in some cases murdered, by people who first became radicalised by hate speech.”

Wow, poor leftists are in need of protection then… lock up whoever disagrees with them in such a way that causes “harm”?

        • YES FRANK,

(I HOPE THIS NEW GROUP EXPLAIN WHO THEY ARE ALSO)

I WAS A GREEN PARTY MEMBER IN 2002 BUT WE LEFT AS GREENS LOST THE ‘HEART BASE’ OF TRUE ACTIVISM AROUND THAT TIME.
WE HAVE KEPT THAT FLAME GOING TODAY UNDER OUR OWN BANNER, CEAC.

          LATEST CEAC PRESS RELEASE. TODAY;

          Politics. – CEAC – 28/4/2019.

Citizens Environmental Advocacy Centre press release- 28- April 2019.

“Government needs “National NZ Port Strategy” so Ports work together not fighting over freight”

A new “National NZ Port Strategy” is needed here in NZ for export of freight.

Today on News hub’s ‘The nation’ show there was a ‘Port discussion’ that was enlightening to us.
          https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/shows/2019/04/exclusive-no-point-investing-in-northport-without-building-rail-link-working-group.html
After watching the panel discussion about the mess our NZ Port issues are about, we now see clearly that the current Government needs a new “National NZ Port Strategy Plan” for NZ Ports to be actively working together instead of fighting over freight, as the current model of ‘independent’ scrapping over freight is damaging both the regions and the loss of residential wellbeing in regions who undercut other Ports to get freight income from capturing ‘lower cost freight’ through their Port because those Ports are now operating at a loss and now forced to sell part of their Port as Napier Port is attempting to do now.

Napier Port are leaving us with a legacy of a residential environmental disaster in their ‘wake.’

History of CEAC meetings with two of our central Port executives; – At both Napier and Gisborne ports.

          2016:
Our Committee was invited to the Napier Port boardroom in November 2016 to discuss the massive truck noise and pollution affecting all Napier residents living near the ‘truck network roads’ to and from Napier port, and we sought funding for mitigation for smooth quiet road surfacing and noise barriers and Napier Port said they had no money then.

At that meeting we were sadly advised that sending logs out of NZ was virtually not viable for them, as the Port staff advised us ‘they could not compete with Wellington Port’ who were actually sending their logs out at such a low cost that Napier Port could not afford to compete for freight at those charges.

          2011:
In 2011 we brokered a meeting with the Gisborne ‘Eastland Port’ Executives as we were asking them to use rail to move logs to their Port for export rather than using trucks.

The executives also confirmed to us at the meeting that the cost to send each log out of NZ was so low that they made very little money on shipping logs.

So it is now painfully clear now that we need to send a clear message to Government that the whole transportation of our export freight from our NZ Ports is in need of a reset policy.

One that now can offer all forms of ‘land transport’ using rail and road options to make freight costs lower so freight is viable to ship from NZ while giving all Ports adequate funding to offer residential citizens adequate mitigation to lower the transportation effects of road truck freight noise and pollution adversely affecting all those living near busy export road networks to their local port facilities.

Shane Jones, as Regional Development Minister, was also shown on a video clip saying he will be setting up an election policy to change the way the ports in NZ operate “independently” as he said it is not acceptable and needs to change”.

We welcome Shane Jones’ position on this change.

So we seek the labour caucus acceptance to a real Port policy change away from the current conflicting manner that all ports are currently undercutting the charges of freight at the expense of residents and Ports not having any capital to offer residents any mitigation.

All HB/Gisborne residents living near Port bound trucks are now facing a legacy of a residential environmental disaster in their ‘wake’.

        • Hate speech may be something that needs addressing, Frank, but why has it become such a big thing since late last year, when we were presented with something called “the People’s Harassment Report” by some Green Party associated group?

The Greens didn’t campaign on this, and, also, there’s something weird about their instance on this topic… and they have been insisting on it since at least 3 months before the massacre in Christchurch.

        • Might I cautiously add to your list

          the greedy
          racists
          sociopaths
          narcicists
          psychopaths
and others who have little empathy or regard for others and that may include some politicians.

    • It is super weird that everyone is thinking that the Greens are in Position for some other shady purpose this year aye because last year they could do no wrong.chur

  3. Hh Baggins yes, please bring back to us the Organic, Local and Aotearoa-driven Green Party of Rod Donald and Jeanette Fitzsimons.

    • Yes Tom Fitz,

1000% agree with you there; “Bring back – Aotearoa-driven Green Party of Rod Donald and Jeanette Fitzsimons”.

Please bring back the real green Party of environmental advocacy not this phoney lot.

      • Too right! Whose agenda? Where is the local consultation? All we hear are Globalist talking points from the Greens.Chur
