Picciolini was a leading neo-Nazi skinhead and far-right extremist in the 1980s and ’90s. He is the author of “White American Youth: My Descent into America’s Most Violent Hate Movement—and How I Got Out.”
His insight into how young whitemen are recruited into the extremist movement is a helpful starter to answering the question of how we can prevent tragedies such as the one we have just experience.
