NZ MSM ‘news’ have been full of reports on the heatwave all over the country, and how people do best cope with the heat (drink lots, enjoy ice cream, go and take a dip in the lake or sea or river).
And with their blissfully ignorant, disconnected brains, the reporters and their prey go on about it, as if this is all just exciting or a bit odd at best.
NOBODY mentions the causes, i.e. climate change, I note, nobody seems to bother examining this, and asking the hard questions, re what can and must be done to stop this getting even more out of hand.
The IPCC can issue report after report, with stern warnings, at best they get a brief mention on the news, then get forgotten.
The populace continues driving everywhere, polluting the air and atmosphere more and more, and it is like the hot turning on the heater, to make it all get even worse.
I call this total IDIOCY that has taken hold of consumerist, wasteful and polluting Kiwis, same as people in most other ‘developed’ and ‘developing’ countries.
How long will this madness continue? Will the sea level have to rise 10 or 30 metres?
We are digging our graves, we are at it in blissful ignorance, it seems, and nobody does what needs to be done, they do not even ask for the causes.
