GUEST BLOG: Arthur Taylor – despite legal wins in Court, NZ Corrections continue harassment campaign

After last Friday’s double wins for me in the Courts , it was perhaps too much to be expected the “system ” ( Corrections ) would leave me be. Incredably , I have been denied permission to phone the High Court Registrar regarding 2 cases I am involved in.

No reason given , so I’ve made application to the Judge for Corrections to be held in contempt of Court.

Also, my 6 monthly security rating review was delivered on Wednesday. Using the slew of petty rule infractions they were hitting me with a few months ago ( wearing a beanie on a cold day etc. ) , they had recalculated me from Low to Maximum Security.

What a hoot!

That would ordinarily mean transfer back to Pare within 24 hours. However, Prison Director James Watson overrode the rating back to Low. It does illustrate, though,  how arbitrary the Inmate security Rating system is.
