The UN mock Trump and his new drum beat for war with Iran

The UN mocking Trump during his ridiculous claim to be the greatest President who has done the greatest things ever in the history of great things shows just how far America has lost any leadership it once had.

Trump is now eyeing up military action against Iran, and the proxy actors trying to incite war are in full effect .

Gwynne Dyer is one of the best Western commentators on the Middle East ands his latest column is a damning insight into the behind the scenes machinations trying to goad Iran into open war with America…

The men who carried out Saturday’s attack on the parade in Ahvaz, in Iran’s southwestern province of Khuzestan, were well trained: four of them killed 25 people and wounded 70 others before they were shot dead. The question is whether they were trained by Islamic State or by the backers of the low-profile Ahvaz National Resistance, which also claimed credit for the attack.

Islamic State is an independent ultra-extremist Sunni Muslim movement that kills Shias (most Iranians are Shia) on principle, so there are no big political implications if it was IS that planned the attack.

If it was the Ahvaz National Resistance, however, then these were the opening shots in the next Gulf War, because the ANR is backed by Saudi Arabia and its smaller Arab allies like the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

…I think the fear now is that Trump’s disastrous domestic agenda desperately needs a war to remove attention from the numerous problems he’s self created at home.

Israel and Saudi Arabia are itching for military conflict with Iran and Trump simply doesn’t have the intellect or foresight to see the danger he’s putting himself in by starting the drum beat for war.

  1. Herr Trump claims that Iran is the greatest instigator of terrorism in the world, and that it is behind most of the wars on the planet. There are a few problems with this allegation:
    1.Iran has not attacked another country for over 200 years.The U.S. had at last count attacked 84 countries in that timespan.
    2.Iran is overwhelmingly Shia.Terrorist attacks come almost always from Sunni moslem groups that have been funded and instigated by the UAB,and in particular by Saudi Arabia, with the main supplier of arms, backup[U.S. Airforce], being the U.S. Empire.Sunni and Shia hate each other.The Sunni regard the Shia as heretics, and as an impediment to the formation of their Glorious Sunni Caliphate, which will one day rule the world under Sharia Law.[Shudder!]
    3. The U.S. has over 850 foreign military bases.Iran has one, in Syria.Russia and China have 13 between them.
    Who is the 500 ton gorilla who is wrecking the planet!!!

    I had an idea that it was longer ago than that. Do you have to hand information on that last attack by Iran?

    I agree with you. I do wonder, though, if this isn’t just more rhetoric on Trump’s part, designed as a preamble to negotiation, as he did with North Korea. However: the danger with the Iran situation is the trigger-happiness of other players in the region. He risks starting a fire that he can’t extinguish.

    Globalism is finished, will we hang on to a bankrupt and corrupt global system?
    Or will we abandon global fiance and take control of our own monitory system?
    Im calling for a return to the gold standard and a dept forgiveness scheme, Make NZ independent again!

  4. To any readers of this blog who still hold the mistaken impression that rnz national radio do not take there marching orders from the military industrial complex. (the coalition of the bombers) Rnz news bulletin 11am 26 september 2018, president trump has imposed sanctions on Iran because of there nuclear program?? Please correct me if i am wrong, but i was under the impression that most world leaders with half an ounce of intellect agree that Iran has fully complied with all requirements re. its nuclear weapons programs. These exceptional american clowns trump haley bolton etc. seem determined to start WWIII.

  6. The US coalition has spent 100 billion trying to take over Syria, thankfully Russia and Iran have sacrificed their blood to stop them. It would have been another Libya. They then planned to topple Iran. They are still trying, the Russian plane they shot down was supposed to provoke Putin to retaliate, thus they could attack and WW3 would have started. Putin has put extra missile defence and also reports of nukes. They are expecting something again from Israel. US needs to get out and leave the oil alone.

  7. As soon as the USA walked away from the agreement that was in place by Obama that set the stage for the next conflict in the middle east.
    The Iranians are not a pushover like Sadam was in 1991.
    If the Americans and others want war with Iran it will be the most dangerous conflict since Yom Kippur in 1973 when a deranged Richard Nixon has his finger on the button with the possibility of a nuclear exchange ever present.
    If you add Israel and the Saudis it will spark a major fire that will not be put out.
    This is not the Korean peninsula and Trump and others like Bolten who waged war on Iraq are deluded if they think they can tame the Persian tiger.

    So why don’t you listen to the Iranians and who they thought was behind the attack? It’s really quite simple.

    “Their need for support from strong, international sources outside of Iran is inevitable. America, Saudi Arabia and Israel have joined hands to help the anti-Iran terrorist groups in every aspect. There is no doubt that all the terrorist operations conducted in Iran enjoy the US support and its direct or indirect guidance. We never forget that U.S. President Trump, immediately after being elected as the President of the US, openly announced the policy of regime change in Iran as part of his agenda.”

  12. One and quite possibly the only good thing about Trump is that he is the master of diversion. While most world leaders would have long-since resorted to good old-fashioned military conflict, Trump seems to have an endless supply of crazy to draw on, spin up, and use to send the media off in a tizzy. Why waste all that money bombing some 2-bit country when you can pay a porn star to pretend she had sex with you? Same result.

    I don’t think you can use history or experience to determine what Trump is going to do. He’s just not like any other leader the world has ever seen. People call him a narcissist, but he’s not… he actually doesn’t seem to care a whit about what the media is saying about him. He only cares about what they’re not saying. He’s very, very good at getting them to “not say” what he doesn’t want them to be reporting on.

    I don’t know if Trump is going to attack Iran. Yes, he obviously has the same rabble of “adviser” telling him he should. But, he doesn’t seem to listen to advisers, or take advice, or even pay attention to advice, well-meaning or not. He just bounces from this to that, using whatever to spin the media in some useful direction. So far, he’s used the military option far less than most American Presidents.

    Go ahead, try to predict what he’s going to do. Good luck with that. When he says “we’ll see,” it probably means he doesn’t know either.
