Well, well, well – so no actual witnesses to Meka’s orgy of violence?

Well, well, well.

As more information starts to leak out over Meka’s orgy of violence and her ‘difficulty’ with staff (which media pundits were screaming was proof of Jacinda’s weakness because Meka wasn’t fired on the spot), we start hearing the other side of the story.

So this ‘assault’ didn’t occur in Parliament and there are no witnesses.

So what exactly were the right wing pundits demanding here?

That a Minister of the Crown should be sacked immediately based on a event no one witnessed and wasn’t on Parliament grounds?

I think as more information comes out and as the investigation continues, Meka will be cleared of any wrong doing and that this entire fiasco will be yet another reminder, as if Awanuiarangi Black and the rumours against Clarke Gayford weren’t reminder enough, that just because something is said doesn’t make it true.

We are so quick to damn and pass judgement.

Jacinda showed true leadership under pressure, she stood Meka down and launched an investigation as per the values of natural justice. She didn’t freak out and just knee-jerk sack Meka.

We should celebrate that kind of leadership, not criticise it.
