I had a productive session this week with Prison Inspector Jason Eakins regarding some recent issues I raised with the Inspectorate . He said the Waikeria pound would no longer be used for Minimum & Low Security inmates .
Also , Waikeria visitors with approved property forms will now be able to drop off the items during their visits , rather than being required to mail them. This is a “common sense” issue & I’,m glad the Inspectorate is taking such issues on board now .
We will shortly be getting additional cable TV channels too – such as Choice , Bravo & Duke, also Has the penny finally dropped?

Go get them Arthur, The west-north wing in Waikeria is a Guantanamo style prison that amounts to inhumane conditions and the serious assaults by prison officers and inmates should warrant a commission of enquiry of how these crimes have been swept under the carpet.
