Last night on the Sky Channel 70 “discovery we watched a new program on global railways featuring the building of the Napier railway viaduct bridge to Wairoa allowing train traffic to Gisborne as planned from the beginning post 1930. This was a very informative TV program sent out to the world, and our trading partners, and tourists alike.
Therefore now our full rail link to Gisborne must be completed.
Video footage includes current Wairoa and Gisborne footage included, and states the railway was built to give these ‘isolated regions’ better transport to grow a safer economic base with.
