Have your say on changes to the Psychoactive Substances Act

This Bill amends the Psychoactive Substances Act 2013 to increase the penalty for selling or supplying psychoactive substances that are not approved products.

The main aim of this bill is to:
• increase the penalty associated with the supply of non-approved products in line with the penalties for the supply of Class C drugs under section 6(2)(c) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975
Parliament’s Justice Committee will now be considering the bill. Committee chairperson Raymond Huo encourages people with views on the legislation to share these with the committee.

“Anyone with views on this bill are encouraged to make submissions to the committee so that we can make well-informed decisions about how the bill should progress through the Parliament.”
