JUDGE, JURY & COOKIE MONSTER is a silly and surreal theatrical game in which suspects vie for their innocence in the High Cookie Court. The audience are the jury and must narrow down the suspect pool in order to determine who stole the cookie from the cookie jar! An irreverent ensemble of seven present facts, fiction, witness testimony, cross-examination and evidence in an unconventional and fantastical version of formal court proceedings.

Last year John Burrows (creator/director/playmaker) brought the “…beguilingly authentic adventure.” (Nik Smythe, Theatreview) Delivery #17 to Auckland Fringe moving audiences from Basement & Q Theatre into public space and casting them as cupid for a long distance relationship. With JUDGE, JURY & COOKIE MONSTER he places them in public service as Jury members in the high stakes world of criminal cookie consumption faced with the challenge of successfully determining guilt.

Colliding, combining and subverting various judicial systems this is his biggest and most gleeful addition to interactive theatre in New Zealand and marks the debut production for Burrowed Time presented as part of the Auckland Fringe in Q Theatre Loft. Seven actors and an incredible production team including Creative Ambience (Production Design), Kate Mason (Costume Design), Patrick Kelly (Sound Design) and Lucie Everett-Brown (Production Management) this production is going to leave a great taste in your mouth.

Inspired by the biscuit service he received during actual jury service, Burrows (Delivery #16, #17 and The Generation Of Z) has created a live theatre game for actors and audience alike which is part Whodunnit, part Courtroom Drama and all interactive comedy trial.
