Here is a short YouTube video and photo montage I have put together of the January 5 storm surge and sea flood event in Kaiaua, Thames and the Thames Coast. Why it happened, and some graphic not seen before footage of sea walls being overtopped, suburbs flooded, and roads wrecked.

  1. A mere taste of what is to come over the next few years, in the final period when the global economic system still functions ‘normally’.

No doubt the councils responsible for the affected areas will attempt to restore the damaged infrastructure and pretend that it was just a ‘one in a 100 year event’ that won’t happen again. They couldn’t possibly acknowledge that they have got it all completely wrong and have made no plans whatsoever for what is coming down the line.

    These are such ‘interesting times’.

  2. ‘The risk of extreme weather ending human existence is topped only by the risk posed weapons of mass destruction. A global survey released by the World Economic Forum on Wednesday showed that for the second year in a row, the dangers of extreme weather are only second to that of nuclear missiles and other such weaponry. And in terms of both likelihood and impact, extreme world weather events are the number one concern, according to the survey.’
