    Update on my case against the NZ Police with the Human Rights Review Tribunal

    But there is no comment box coming up. Is comments closed for this or an IT issue going on there?

    Just wanted to say I agree with Martyn 1000% on his view that

    “It has become obvious to me from the outset that this entire process to hold the NZ Police to account for breaching my privacy and civil rights is made to be as difficult and impossible as possible so that people complaining give up rather than hold them to account.”

    And I can say that many other complaints to other public service organisations are the same. They do not work at all, Ive been involved with two complaints (not about police) and they go nowhere. The system is designed not to work in particular with people under investigation good at lying.

    Democracy is about having somewhere to complain against individuals that are working outside of their remit and if justice has not been served.

    Urgent reviews and reorganisation is needed in this area. Justice is not being done. Investigations are a sham run by laughable people who should not be in that job.

    Investigators main job seems to be to write reports that sound like an investigation was made but many important points are just wrong. Due to it normally taking years to get an investigation completed and difficulty doing anything about incorrect information in the investigations most people do give up.

    And that is not democracy and that is not justice. And ultimately it costs society if renegades are running around in the public service doing whatever they want and getting away with it by lying to investigators that can’t do their job.

    Good on Winston for complaining about his breach of privacy and good luck to you Martyn for your case. It’s in the police’s interest to be transparent and to admit wrong doing so that they can learn from it. We don’t want to turn into other countries with corrupt and unaccountable police.

    At least we welcome NZ to the party of the more developed nations, most who have greater provisions than NZ has so far, that is within the OECD.

  6. We can undo the criminal and nasty ‘reforms’ and crimes by National, using their own instruments under urgency offered by parliamentary rules, but I would suggest they should in most cases still be allowed a ‘fair’ Select Committee hearing, and then embarrassed by the shit they will present.

    I also would like to know what is happening with the so called ‘Social Security Rewrite Bill’, that has not progressed.
