  1. Who do you want to be King Maker?

The ball is in the Labour Party’s court.

With only a two seat difference, the choice is between New Zealand First and the Maori Party

In the 2nd leaders debate between Bill English and Jacinda Ardern, both leaders were asked; “What bottom line demand of Winston Peters would you refuse to agree to?
Bill English indicated that he would agree to all of them to get back into government, Jacinda Ardern said she would not agree Peters demand to hold a binding referendum on the Maori seats.

If Labour destroy the Maori Party and take all, or even most, of the Maori electorates, as they intend to. Then Labour will remove the Maori Party as an extra coalition partner to the Greens. And the nation will be handed a National – New Zealand First coalition government.

    Wake up Labour!

Give up your racist campaign to destroy all independent Maori voices in parliament.

The enemy is not the Maori or Mana Parties, the real enemy is the National Party.

  2. The gap between Jacinda Ardern’s words and actions.

    One:

In last night leaders debate Jacinda Ardern said she would not have done the Seabed and Foreshore legislation to take away Maori legal right to take court action over the exploitation of the sea bed and foreshore.

Yet, in practice Labour is still warring against the Maori Party, which sprung from the rift created between Maori and the Labour Party resulting from the Seabed and Foreshore dispute.

If Labour want to go some way to heal the rift between Maoridom and the Labour Party Jacinda Ardern needs to put a stop Labour’s sectarian war to expel any independent Maori voice from Parliament.

If she is sincere in her words Jacinda Ardern can bring the Maori Party back into the Left camp with Labour and the Green Party.

If Ardern sincerely wants to match her actions to her words, Ardern would put all her Maori electorate MPs back on the Labour list. And ask Labour supporters in the Maori electorates to vote tactically to get a Labour led government. There is still time.

    Two:

In Labour’s election launch at the Auckland Town Hall Jacinda Ardern said, “Climate Change is the nuclear free issue of my generation”.

If Jacinda is sincere and wants to match her actions to her words, then she would state that a Labour led government on gaining office would stop all deep sea oil drilling in New Zealand controlled waters.

Deep sea oil drilling is one of the “unconventional fossil fuel technologies” that James Hansen says will doom the planet to irreversible climate change.

There are no jobs in it, All the workforce are imported.

And there are no votes in it. Polls show 80% of New Zealanders are opposed to deep sea oil drilling.

The question is: Is Jacinda Ardern just all talk, or will she match her actions to her words.

The choice before Jacinda Ardern is stark, does Jacinda Ardern want to be leader of the opposition or leader of the country.

We will see which way she chooses.

If Ardern chooses not to work with the Maori Party, if Ardern chooses to continue to support deep sea oil drilling.

Then on losing the election to a National New Zealand First coalition, she should resign in shame, it would be the decent thing to do.

    • Let the Maori Party justify their existence by winning one or more seats.
I think we have all had enough of gaming the system and gerrymandering a result.

If the Maori Party are good enough, they will have a seat at the table, if not, there is no room for them at this point. Then let them go away, or get better.

This is about a new, morally acceptable start. And maybe subsequently a change to the system to make gerrymanders avoidable.

  3. Joyce’s $11 billion desperate nonsense claim against Labour is bullshit (Billshit?) and mud. Trouble is even after his bullshit is exposed by the top Berle economist, other real economists and the media some of the mud still sticks to influence the gullible voters.

    • Yes it seems National can say pretty much anything and the MSM give it credence ,it wouldn’t matter how many experts refute the claims, National is always right.
UNICEF estimate 295,000 Kiwi kids live in poverty, how proud is National of their economic and social management, I can only feel shame and disgust.

      • Barry, I concur with your assessment that “it seems National can say pretty much anything and the MSM give it credence ,it wouldn’t matter how many experts refute the claims”. It appears that the Nats have a new strategy to deal with uncomfortable revelations: they issue a vaguely-credible statement and then double-down on it. They’ll argue black is white and white is black until;

        (a) they’re blue in the face (their natural colour)

        (b) journos and the public become tired of the issue.

Then the 24 hour news-cycle does it’s work and it’s all forgotten.

Joyce’s reprehensible behaviour is symptomatic of why the public hold politicians in such poor regard. Not that Joyce would agree; he’d blame it on someone else.

    • Yes Rodell, Do you also remember when Bill English said at Government business meeting in 2010 after the cost of restoring rail to 21st century operations?

he was quoted as saying “we cannot afford to maintain a rail system and a road as well”?

Well he has spent considerable money in his south Island locations now hasn’t he???

Kaikoura, Midland line and the Westport line all required a lot of Government money as well as the insurance payout was only partially covering the repairs.

S Joyce was always behind the scenes pushing the buttons to close down rail and Bill English was just parroting his assigned dictation from SS Joyce.

Now we see Joyce up to his ears in his own shit, over his false allegations against Labour’s planned Budget blowout of $11Billion “hole” Joyce has fumbled royally, – how fitting.

      Joyce is a bloody chump!!!!
