Hosking is a sexist piece of trash who has spun deluded neoliberal fantasy after neoliberal fantasy to justify his love affair with National while Gower is a homicidal political sadist who crowed about being responsible for taking out Metria in the pack lynching that saw her destroyed.
This matters immensely when you look at the recent insanity of the opinion polls which seem to be totally directed by media scandal and has voters running around like sheep.
Allowing two of the most hatefully influential decide the debates is only further evidence of how broken our political media spectrum has become.
Imagine how much better quality debate and focus on the issues that matter rather than the bloodsport it will become if Mihingarangi Forbes or Hillary Barry or Barbara Dreaver were hosting these debates.
Imagine if Kim Hill was the host?

Unfortunately it gets worse than Hosking and Gower hosting the debates.
Election night on TV3 will be hosted by Gower, the dreadful Lisa Owens and Duncan Garner. That’s the blind leading the smug leading the stupid.
How about an alternative leaders debate organised by someone else on the internet?
Trouble is, English wouldn’t front up to any leaders’ debate where the cards weren’t already stacked in his favour.
Or alternatively read a book, go to a movie, or go on the piss.

I really enjoyed 3 news this morning cause Garner wasn’t there I noticed that stupid dippy Amanda Gillies & her mate dipstick self opinionated Richardson were quiet for a change. And it was great to watch as far as I’m concerned both of the side kicks have far too much dribble coming out of their mouths and they use there roles to advocate for their political party of choice as does Hoskings. However TV 3 were quick to get rid of Campbell. Who owns TV 3 isn’t it private and who owns TV 1, we do the tax payer so why is Hosking allowed to get away with his constant lobbying and advocating for the Tories. This in my view isn’t fair nor is it right but its been allowed to carry on for how long. New government equals a change of Media personnel. All views should be presented if public broadcasting is to be fair and balanced.

It is a shame that Labour are forced to appear in an unfair interrogation when the National party have a hell of a lot to answer for and wont be held to account.
Doesn’t it amply demonstrate the dismal status of TV political journalism that the best they can find are these two?
Actually it has nothing to do with ability. It is all about complicated relationships, nepotism and hierarchy within both networks.
The best way to get through to the programme managers is to e-mail both networks directly and tell them we are boycotting them.
When the boycott numbers get up the advertisers booked during the sessions will start to get nervous and start putting on the pressure.
That’s the only way these one-eyed cretins will get the message – if the money stops rolling in.
Anything else they will just laugh at.
I have posted on both TVNZ One’s and TV3’s Facebook pages and let them know that if Hosking is not replaced, and if I detect the least bias during the TV3 debates that I will boycott, in perpetuity, any product or service advertised during the programmes.
They may not pay heed to the 70,000 who signed the Replace Hosking petitions but they would certainly take notice of any threat to their advertising revenue..

TVNZ has the perfect political debate moderator right there, employed by the network. Jack Tame. Now there’s someone who is a professional journalist, knows his stuff, intelligent, unbiased and doesn’t suffer fools lightly (which could make it difficult for English). Tame is the man for the job.
But instead, the network in its complete Natz bootlicking stupidity, puts that Tory bluebottle Hosking out there to do the job, he, the self opinionated, know nothing, two bit one man sideshow spectacle!

A change of government is not wanted by the powers that be, they are already busy at undermining Jacinda Ardern and Labour, the Greens have also already been destroyed.

Are there truly such matters as Journalistic Intergrity. Journalistic credibility, journalistic reliability in todays mainstream NZ media? Because to date all we see are a bunch of so-called journos like Paddy Gower, Mike Hosking, etc,etc; who seem to be truly in the National Party pocket financially. In his Witch-hunt to rid main-stream NZ media of investigative journalists John Key replaced those journos who did more intellectual and mind-provoking journalism with those who could be easily manipulated and controlled from the National Party. And so we now have so-called journalists like Paddy Gower and Mike Hosking who are quite obviously National Party puppets/parrots. And so when we have a government who cannot and will not allow investigative journalist when it’s not in the National Party favour we see instead those who are controlled by the government of the day. One step closer to a dictatorship and with National at the helm.
And so whilst there will be these debates on the telly and hosted by Gower(on TV3 at a guess)and Hosking(on TV One) I will not be watching either debate. Mainly because we all know that Mike Hosking is biased towards National. Much like Lisa Owen seems to be biased towards the National MP of the day on The Nation. And biased towards the government of the day journos like Hosking and Gower will probably give more air-time to say Bill English whilst constantly interuppting say Jacinda Ardern, Winston Peters and James Shaw. Bill English will be allowed more air time to say his bullshit whilst being allowed by say Hosking and Gower to snipe at the Opposition parties and go over the over-used previous mantras of blaming a previous Labour government of almost a decade ago.
And if I hear English say the words “never before’ when making a jab at a previous Labour government or even NZ First or the Greens I will know he just cannot behave in a true adult manner.
Hearing a National MP using the words “Never Before” in reference to whatever little they(National)are in reality doing today whether it comes to housing, health, education, Policing, Justice, Compensation etc; means diddly squat to me now in 2017.
But then I will never forget Bill English’s past penchant for greed for himself financially when it came to him stealing from NZ taxpayers to fund himself in ‘accommodation costs’. That level of depravity on his part shows to me how easily he would find it to steal from the poor to fund his rich life-style.
