Australia declares war on Jacinda

Well, that escalated quickly. Julie Bishop – the Australian foreign minister – says it may be hard to trust a NZ Labour government???

Government accuses Labor of NZ conspiracy

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop says it would be ‘very difficult to build trust’ with a New Zealand Labour government should the opposition party win the upcoming election there.

Having criticised the Australian Labor Party over a question to a Labour member of the New Zealand parliament about Kiwi citizenship, Ms Bishop was asked whether she would trust a future NZ Labour government.

‘I would find it very difficult to build trust with members of a political party that had been used by the Australian Labor Party to seek to undermine the Australian government,’ Ms Bishop said in Canberra on Tuesday.

Leader of the House Christopher Pyne earlier accused Labor of conspiring with its New Zealand counterpart in order to bring down the government.

Jacinda’s response is forthright and takes no prisoners…

…Australia dares has the audacity to suggest they couldn’t work with NZ if Labour won?

We have put up with Australia’s blatant racism, citizenship rights double standards and their slavish devotion to American foreign policy and they are the ones questioning working with us???

For the last 9 years we’ve had a toothless and gutless National Party who have allowed NZ to be pushed around, if Labour gets elected, Jacinda should take a far harder stance on Australia for the way they treat our citizens, Aborigines and its human rights abuses in the Pacific.

Being a ‘mate’ doesn’t just mean you accept any bullshit behaviour from them, being a mate requires the ability to pull them aside and take them to task for being a dick.

For a nation settled by criminals, Australia’s sense of self importance is as delusional as Trump’s is.

  1. Key opened the door for this bullshit now the Aussie think they can get away with anything and everything cause Key let them shit on his own people and got a special award for being a b..t to his own people.
Julie Bishop can get stuffed who the f…. does she think she is. Our newly elected government needs to stand up to these Aussie mongrel bullies.
Jacinda needs to give them the one finger salute like she did to our media. Brownlee a bully himself didn’t have the balls to stand up to Julie bloody poofter.

  2. I blame John Key for all this bullshit he let them tramp all over us and Brownlee had no balls either he couldn’t and didn’t stand up for us either when it came to Bishop. She deserves to be given the one finger salute who the f… does she think she is.

  3. Key sucked up to Australia and was weak Australia bullied NZ for last 9 years under Key Government has let them.

  4. Wow, the favours are being called in aren’t they?

Julie Bishop, clearly worried for her mates hanging on to power in NZ’s National Party, has taken a fairly unprecedented step and waded into our elections, all on a premise that is based on a lie.

Maybe the ruling Australian governing party is concerned they won’t have a complaint whipping boy anymore if Gerry and his buddy’s get kicked out.

Who knows, but I agree, fuck off Aussie. Bullying your nearest neighbour is pathetic, cowardly and just maybe we don’t want to have anything to do with you lot either.

    • That was my first response too Australia can F off, they have proven that they are no mates of New Zealand, they treat Kiwis like 3rd class shit, yet they come over here and have access to all our benefits.

  5. Good on you Martyn and good on you Jacinda !!!

When the day comes when that outfit they call the Australian government starts treating New Zealanders with respect and granting them the ability to study , a realistic path to citizenship and a workable welfare system that protects them against unemployment , illness etc instead of just holding out their hands to collect tax dollars off them is the day we might just start to have a bit of respect for them again.

  6. Yeah seems like these are desperate right wing lies in yet another sign they’re bricking it.

Still, never let a good crisis go to waste – that little nonce Hipkins would be a useful sacrificial lamb for the sake of peace here. I mean, what the fuck was he thinking? Like this wouldn’t be used in exactly the way it’s being used?

He’s supposed to be their spokesman on Education. He’s been facing Hekia Parata. That’s basically the same as facing an open goal, and yet he’s not put a single shot in the net. Yet here he is wasting question time on this? Kick him the fuck out!

    • Oh, no wait, not another privileged prep school elitist 😀 😀 😀 😀

Governments have been with us for quite some time and will be for a while longer. However, there new discoveries and inventions changing the paradigm of rule. The idea that human representatives are needed in society is slowly starting to wither away and because of high-speed technology people are questioning the very ethics of authority. These concepts are just in the beginning stages of realization, but a vast array of use cases are coming about. This includes voting mechanisms, international passports and digital IDs, people are drafting digital constitutions, property, and real estate transactions and more are being explored daily. These four concepts above will continue to promote society’s progression of choice and autonomy.

        • (Well, let me dick around abit before I get to my uncomfortable point)

We could end up with The Green Parties defence policy. You no the one. But I digress.

Leader of The Australian Labour Party Bill Shorten took the reigns after the disasters that was lemon Rudd, Gillard and Beazly before. Shorten has weathered two high court cases brought against him by Liberal and National politicians over union funds. Shorten has taken the Australian Labour Party from the 17% approval ratings after Rudd and turned it around to almost reclaiming government benches.

Shortens activities in the High Court will not go unrecognised when negotiating with globalists.

          • Yeah well Aussie Labor (I feel so odd spelling it that way) leaders sure know a thing or two about getting taken down by globalists. And the Liberals sure know a thing or two about crawling up the arse of the deep state!

Speaking of ex ALP leaders, Mark Latham is woke as fuck.

            • Agree. Can’t go past Bob Hawk though. Now that’s some one who could handle his piss while running an economy. I’m sure the fem-bots will disapprove of the extra marital affair. Paul Keating deserves a mention. I’m not entirely sure What John Howard did except for hide taxes. But it was a Labour Prime minister under Geogh Wittlham that opened up trade with China. Suppose that delayed a China freak out for a bit.

You know thinking back now, Gillard and Rudd both meet with Rupert Murdoch on seperate occasions and was widely publicised and promoted at the time, and they both turned out pretty average. It may be nothing but I haven’t seen much of Murdochs approvals of Bill Shorten. That’s my impressions. I think Murdoch is a spent force that is dealing with substandard Editors. Oh the I told you so’s will be loud. Globalism and the deep state it road in on is having unintended consequences all over.

              • Yeah Shorten seems to have the ALP back on track from my admittedly limited time spent following.

Hawke was one of a kind.

    • Cemetry Jones I live in the electorate Hipkins is standing and the people there wont giving a flying f… about this issue they are more worried about finding a home and a job. He will romp in and wipe the floor of O ….whats her name. However Hipkins needs to mind his own business and work for us, his electorate and the people of NZ he should not be messing with the jealous, bullying Aussie government oi oi oi he is acting like a boy boy boy

  7. The old cynic in me is going into overdrive over this one!

Keeping in mind Natz is desperate now, is it possible this could be a ploy from the NZ government to use it’s Australian Tory counterparts to begin throwing the dirt at Labour? Dirty Politics from across the Tasman, to make Natz look clean?

Unintentionally and before I had the chance to switch off the radio, I heard the opening of Larry Williams’ programme on Newstalk ZB this afternoon. Before I was able to press the off button, I caught his opening shot, which was to fire off at Labour and Jacinda Ardern over this insignificant Australian issue. Williams was about to make a big deal out of nothing! Not unexpected from Williams, given he is one of many rabid media mouthpieces for the Natz!

Now we wait for Smith, Gower, Garner, Soper and of course the snivelling Natz sycophant Hosking, along with various msm sources to begin another campaign of finger pointing and vicious spin, this time against Jacinda and Labour! I suspect they are already salivating at the thought of more spilling of political blood!

    • Whoops, did Gerry out himself as one taking sides with his Trans Tasman buddies?

      https://www.nbr.co.nz/article/ardern-questions-hipkins-role-latest-aussie-citizenship-scandal-jw-206481
“”Foreign Affairs Minister Gerry Brownlee says he does not think he has seen anything like this before in New Zealand’s parliament.

“It’s an inexplicable act and frankly, I think there are all sorts of issues with Mr Hipkins allowing himself to be used by someone outside the parliament for what are very odd political reasons.”

Mr Brownlee says this sort of thing does not help with the transtasman relationship.”

Perhaps we need a change of government on either side, it would make for a bit of a chance at least, to move forward from the neoliberal madness that has corrupted this country and Australia under the last governments.

  8. What your governments deputy prime minister is an unconstitutional member and your not thanking labour for exposing This? Sounds like the criminal complaining about the narcus telling on him for the murder he just committed. Wasn’t it Barnaby Joyce calling for foreign dogs to be put down, Johnny Depp?

  9. Julie Bishop, a “huge fan” of John Key.

“When Bishop flew over to Auckland this week for one of her regular meetings with Kiwi counterpart Murray McCully, Prime Minister John Key’s door was also open.

The closeness of the relationship, not just on economic issues but in combat theatres like Iraq, and on security and intelligence issues, makes it as important for our Government to know what makes Bishop tick as it is for her boss Malcolm Turnbull.”

  10. If we helped bring down an Australian government comprised of lying Liberals and rabid Nationals – the Aussies should be thanking us.

  11. Martyn

It is a pity that we have to live so close to the most racist bullies on the planet. I am referring to the Australians.

    The women are shocking.

The men are pretty stunted, but not as bad as the sheilas.

Always remember that Aussies are trained from birth to be scared of everything. Even a falling leaf terrifies them. Queenslanders are chronically terrified. So are Western Austraiians. They wake up in the night look for boats coming across the desert.

Thank God kiwis have got Jacinda. She is strong and brave. All Kiwis are strong and brave. Actually,

  12. The right in Australia have interfered in previous election campaigns in this country openly encouraging kiwis in Australia with a vote to support the NZ National party when they cast their vote.

Julie Bishop is a vicious right wing thug who is stirring the pot for her own advantage.

  13. Another point … do we really care what the harridan Julie Bishop has to say? She’s getting a bit antsy, because she knows her Tory co conspirator puppets in Natz are on their last legs.

The thought of an incoming Labour/Greens government here, is proving to be a bit unsettling for Bishop and her gang!

Good concise response from Jacinda Ardern. She’s on to it.

  14. Grossly inappropriate for the Australian government to interfere with the elections of another sovereign state.Australia acts if they are some kind of a minture super power who’s opinions matter.
They would be better to sort out their own affairs, unabashed racism, terrorism and their constant fear and sabre rattling with their near neighbour Indonesia .
Little wonder Australia licks the feet of the USA,in the hope of being supported in their delusion of being a relevant regional power.

  15. Jacinda did well. Now the Gnats will have to try Plan K or is it L ?

The evil bastards haven’t really started yet.

  16. What a lot of nonsense, all blown out of proportions, well over the top, by Julie Bishop, that hard talking foreign minister of theirs.

And the media here, especially one Paddy from Newshub, they fell for it and made it a story like there was nothing else going on in the world.

A mere coincidence of events, and Labour here get blamed for trying to take down the Australian government, thus helping Labour there.

All in all Jacinda seemed to manage this rather well, I thought, ignoring the media muppets already looking for her to fall over.

This is the beginning of the gloves off election campaign with her leading Labour, the honeymoon she was given seems to be over now, watch this space, even in the Parliament English was hitting back hard at Jacinda.

The campaign will get nasty, all positivity may go out the window soon. Some forces will want to make sure there is no change of government, let us see how Hosking will run the leaders’ debate.

  17. Jesse Mulligan: Australia is treating New Zealand like dirt | Newshub
    http://www.newshub.co.nz/…/jesse-mulligan-australia-is-treating-new-zealand-like-dirt.html

    Jesse Mulligan nails it.

OPINION: … ” Despite longstanding agreements which are supposed to give us special rights, New Zealanders seeking a better life in Australia have not been made to feel welcome.

They’re not allowed to access unemployment benefits, university subsidies or disaster relief. And even though last year Aussie agreed to give us a special path to citizenship, this year they betrayed that agreement.

So tell me again about this so-called special relationship?

Besides that, the Aussie government is now rounding up Kiwis with criminal records and sending them back to New Zealand, even those ones who have lived in Australia since they were babies.

Along the way, some get stuck in detention centres, essentially being put back in jail for crimes they’ve already paid for.

Almost 1000 of them have now been sent back here and surprise, surprise – 20 percent of them have reoffended. Remember Australia is not working with the New Zealand government on this. They make a decision and then we pay for it.

Now when Aussies arrive in New Zealand they get the full Anzac treatment, right? Permanent residency, within a few years they get access to student loans, and to benefits. Becoming a citizen costs less than 500 bucks.

Kiwis arriving in Australia get none of that. When our politicians raise it in meetings we’re ignored and the 600,000 Kiwis living in Australia can’t do anything about it, because despite paying full taxes, they’re not allowed to vote.

Forget the trans-Tasman friendship in 2017 – Australia is basically a bully.

So Julie Bishop, when you say you’ll find it hard to work with New Zealand, what exactly do you mean? How much worse could it possibly get? ”…

    Newshub.

  18. If he were not a politician and as much as stole a loaf of bread they would have him deported for being a kiwi on his ancestry alone.

  19. The Right got rid of Metiria, so the new target is now Jacinda.

I think she will make Julie Bishop look what she is, a calculating harpy.

Jacinda rose to the occasion. Controlled clear and icy.

Hipkins showed he is just a boy, chatting with his mates.

He is now on notice and probably has a target to meet. imo.

New zealanders in Australia can’t stand Julie Bishop, so all good for Jacinda …. her brand is out there now.

Not quite the desired outcome for some !!!

  20. Martyn – This pathetic muck thrown on Jacinda has to be explained by our little shit head Billy English and his treasonous Cabinet.

Australians living here with their children and getting all our State Services free, must loudly denounce the rotten National Parties of New Zealand and of Australia for trying to shaft Jacinda.

John Key must loudly apologise to Jacinda for what he has encouraged the Australians to do. After all, he is a recipient of their highest Order. The creep.

It is time New Zealand threw all Right Wing rubbish kicking and screaming into oblivion. Lets do it ! National is Syphilis.

  21. Under New Zealand law people can hold dual citizenship. But the Electoral Act stipulates that although someone holding dual citizenship can be elected to Parliament, once elected, an MP cannot swear allegiance to any other foreign power. In 2003 the MP for New Plymouth, Harry Duynhoven (pictured here), inadvertently fell foul of the law when he decided he would, for his children’s sake, exercise his right to take up Netherlands citizenship, to which he was entitled through his Dutch-born father. The government had to pass special legislation to allow him to keep his parliamentary seat.

David Green, ‘Citizenship – Aliens and citizens’, Te Ara – the Encyclopedia of New Zealand, http://www.TeAra.govt.nz/en/photograph/921/citizenship-of-members-of-parliament

  22. It is not only the Australian government (Turnbull and Bishop) that have apparently declared war on New Zealand Labour and Jacinda Ardern as new leader, now we also have Winston attack them:

    http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/morningreport/audio/201854898/labour-s-barnaby-joyce-moves-like-an-underarm-bowl

So has Winston now made a decision, to go with the likely winners after 23 September, being the Nats again? Voters should consider these comments coming from Winston, if they really want a change.

RNZ on this new ‘scandal’ (whipped up by the Aussie government):
    http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/morningreport/audio/201854893/ardern-s-harsh-introduction-to-australian-domestic-politics

This seems to be a more considered view on it all:
    http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/morningreport/audio/201854894/julie-bishop-slamming-labour-bonkers-australian-journalist

Watching the am show on TV3 this morning, more electioneering, against Jacinda and Labour, with Garner and Mark Richardson having John Key (to be knighted in Australia) on the show this morning. Golf balls were handed over to Mark – as a present, lots of pleasantries were exchanged, and of course Key was allowed to add his spin to the election campaign by Bill English and Nats, telling watchers and listeners, it is basically all a foregone conclusion.

    http://www.newshub.co.nz/home/shows/the-am-show.html

So will any out there still not have got it, the election in September is likely to be the same as the last two, the MSM have come to the assessment Jacinda is a bit too young (although appealing), is having a bit of a challenge dealing with hard Australian government pollies, and may need a few more years in opposition.

The reporting is disgusting, disgustingly biased, and commercial sponsors ensure the journalists only say what pleases them, as they are their bread and butter.

A change of government, if it should still occur, after the self destruction within the Greens, the promotion of PR effective Jacinda, and Winston now favouring Nats, will mean NO real significant change at all: Business as usual in NZ Aotearoa 2017.

  23. I like Aussies, well some of them anyway. I like Australia. It’s an amazing country with all manner of wee beastie.
It does beg the question however…
Why did holyoak and muldoon sell us Kiwis out to them then? Australia, through no fault of it’s own is a competitor of ours on the primary industry stakes so why the CER? And why, suddenly, is that souring? What House of Cards shit’s going on here?
Why should they suddenly be so concerned about what a small country the size of NZ with the population of Melbourne does? Could it be that we have lots of fresh water and plenty of arable space ? And they don’t? And Global warming and the biggest Muslim population a short boat ride away?
I can’t see why Australia would want to control our politics ? Can you? No idea. Wonder why?

BTW. ” For a nation settled by criminals, Australia’s sense of self importance is as delusional as Trump’s is.”
Really? Are you sure you want to stand by that statement? Have you read ‘ Hero’s ‘ by John Pilger? It would seem not. And Nu Zillind can get pretty delusional too.
I think it’s extremely dangerous to use inflammatory rhetoric at the moment. Let’s just keep it down to politician levels. That’s why we pay them. jonky was a rich little fuck with zero empathy. His mate in AU is a punk too. And that fucking bully idiot who turns out to be a Kiwi ! Oh. My . God. Irony alert ! I’d love to know what johnny depp thinks about that.

    • “Australia, through no fault of it’s own is a competitor of ours on the primary industry stakes so why the CER?”

Well technically the trade deficit with Australia is only a billion dollars or so (on $16B total trade). I’m guessing when the CER was signed it might have potentially been in NZ’s best interest or more or less neutral. Trade isn’t a bad thing per se – it allows countries to specialise in what they’re best at (e.g. technology for Japan, mining for Australia, agriculture for New Zealand, manufacturing for China etc) in a manner that is mutually beneficial to all parties. This is especially important for smaller countries (such as NZ) that can’t possibly compete on the world stage in specialist industries (e.g. integrated circuits (like Intel, Samsung), pharmaceuticals (like Pfizer, Roche, Merck), mobile phones (like Apple) etc) and still be able to afford them.
      https://dfat.gov.au/trade/resources/Documents/nz.pdf

    • Aussie – so I wonder if children born in Australia of NZ parents can be renunciated, i.e. sign a paper that says they are no longer a NZ citizen, just like Mister Joyce has done and he is now an Australian, as my next query is – all the NZ citizens that were sent back to NZ for whatever reason which some of them were not so nice and some not so bad – among the 1000 sent back so far, there are a few that were actually born in Australia too (to NZ parents), can they whip into the Australian Consulate and become Australians now by the tick of a wee box on a form – I sure hope they can coz you can’t have one law/rule for the politicians and one for the little people can ya??? It wouldn’t be cricket and we know how they play cricket, decidedly shoddy at best…… and don’t get me started on that silly bishop woman who thinks NZ is out to get her, she should be so lucky!…… and Shonkey is another that riles me up…… and that’s my lot for today…..

  24. The guy is obviously as Australian as a bloody kangaroo. Clearly this is a case of the ¨letter of the law¨ overriding common sense.

  25. It’s quite clear that the Liberal Party are using this as an excuse to hit out at their opposition, and they probably were asked by National to try and kick the boot into Labour NZ… National no doubt feels that Australia owes them due to the fact they have been very supportive of the Australian govt’s wrong doings.

I think Jacinda’s response has been poor though, she should have stood up for Chris and shut this down ie “this is a non issue” and be done with it.

  26. Notice how Winston Peters has shown his true colours on this.
His party is NZ First – you would kind of think we would be standing up for New Zealanders here – but no, he doesn’t want to upset the Australian Liberal government.
When did he last give a damn about the Australian Liberal government?
I have a deeper sense that Winston is slowly repositioning NZ First to go into coalition with National, if the numbers fall in the right way.
I hope NZ First supporters are aware of this and don’t have some ludicrous idea that a vote for NZ First is a vote for a change.
Because it isn’t, and that is what Winston is showing us now.

  27. I don’t think most NZers give a shit about Julie Bishop. The way they’ve treated us, I hope Hipkins puts the knife into them even deeper. As for Winston Peters, the guy is a manipulative carpetbagger. Siding with the Aussies is a BIG miss-step on his part.

“It is distasteful to see the New Zealand Labour Party colluding with the Australian Labor Party on what was a political hit job targeting the Australian Deputy Prime Minister.” http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11904717

Piss off noddy! We don’t owe the Aussies a single damned thing!!

    • “Scare some voters”??

Not in this country, Dave. Pissing on the Aussies is our third past-time, right up there with rugby and beneficiary-bashing. If Jacinda gave Bishop the two fingered salute she have 99% of the vote behind her.

  28. Great response from Jacinda. I’m tired of the NZ government being the butt plug of the Pacific as well as being minor bullies and enablers of poor foreign policy and fake news.

It’s well past time NZ goes back to the Helen Clark and David Lange days when the NZ government was actually respected on the world stage not seen as a popular golf caddy who would sign any agreement not matter how poor it is for NZ, for a good photo opp, a large donation from lobbyists and multination press opportunities.

  29. The problem is not Jacinda Ardern or the New Zealand Labour Party. The problem is the xenophobic regulation imposed on the Australian parliament.

What are these timid white honky’s afraid of?

Here, in New Zealand, Russel Norman the leader of the New Zealand Greens was an Australian. And the first Labour Party Prime Minister of New Zealand Michael Joseph Savage was also an Australian.

This did not cause consternation or calls for expulsion from parliament.

If NZ had the same xenophobic standing orders for MPs that Australia has, both Norman and Savage would have been expelled from parliament.

Come on Aussies, get the hell over yourselves.

  30. That’s it buy into the beat up media bulldust Martyn!

Fer fuck’s sake surely you can recognise a set up when you see it.
By endlessly repeating the mantra about Oz shitting on kiwis without ever acknowledging the NZ politicians’ role in this mess all you do is play into the same nationalist tosh that the arseholes always use to divide people who need to stick together, and so break solidarity.
I lived and worked in Oz for many years and have to say that the instances of in yer face bullshit from fellow workers there was non-existent unlike what happened when I shifted back to Aotearoa with an Aussie twang.
But that isn’t the issue -what I wanted to say was I attended a bilateral conference on trans tasman migration in the early 90’s. Paul Keating was the Oz PM (I was part of the Australian contingent -probably the last person without Oz citizenship to win permanent appointment to the APS before Bob Hawke changed the rules) and we were begging the kiwis to make some sort of token offer to assist with the massive amounts of money being spent on Kiwis via social security benefits.

We had statistics which demonstrated a substantial proportion of those in receipt of benefits didn’t permanently settle in Oz, and all we wanted was a few mill (against the hundreds of millions the taxpayers were paying out to kiwis) to keep out of play what we knew was coming from the next liberal government.
A 5% contribution signed in a joint heads of government agreement would have prevented all of what happened next.
Do you think the kiwis especially the pols listened? They did not. We told them that Oz’s population demographics were substantially different then than they had been 40 years before and many members of the Oz public just didn’t get why it was that Kiwis got straight into Oz and could cop a special benefit within days of arrival while hardworking australians’ own brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers had to queue up under the points system.
We explained that if they didn’t give a little and a Liberal government changed the rules it would be next to impossible to change them back when the ALP got back in.
That is how it has been since Howard. It is politically impossible for a federal government to make a special deal for kiwis while all the other nations of the world can only access residency via a visa/points system.
The stupid kiwi pols accused us of making an ambit claim. There were a number of kiwis and former kiwis in the Australian delegation (we had been put there because the Keating government knew it was a tough sell) but the dumb bastards refused to listen to us.

Kiwis could have all the same rights as other Australian immigrants tomorrow, but the NZ government would have to also agree to the same immigration criteria as migrants from the rest of the world. That is the points system, a ceiling on the numbers of immigrants each year, full health checks and all the rest.
I know that Australian governments have offered that over the years but unsurprisingly there are no takers because in addition to copping a kicking next election for ‘selling out’, the current set up suits kiwi pols.

They can reduce their own unemployment by encouraging emigration and blame all the current mess on Oz, still completely ignoring Bolger, Moore and Co’s arrant stupidity.

As for the foreign policy differences; now I’ve flushed the bile from my liver, I only want to point out that Kiwis really don’t know how lucky they are not to have a continent full of resources that USuk regard as their private property.
Many kiwis must surely remember what happened to the last Oz PM who tried to break with the arseholes who run the western world.
Gough Whitlam was lucky to only get deposed, Chris Boyce has finally been let out of prison and no one imagines for a moment that the next Oz pol, let alone the next american whstleblower could survive another coup.
The constraints around Oz politicians are far stricter than those Kiwi pols suffer, even if a Labour leader wanted to break with the US and managed to keep that under his/her hat for the decades it takes to climb the greasy pol, as any ALP pol open about such a thing would be hounded outta contention by the media, he/she could never get such a thing through caucus as US agents of influence populate all Oz political movements from the Greens to the (Oz) National Party.

Julie Bishop who has always liked amerikan dick, said what she said as way of slapping the proposed Labour/Green alliance in Aotearoa in a way that the Kiwi right who’re also amerikan knob polishers (but closeted) wouldn’t dare to.

Buying into the BS by sledging Australians is neither a constructive nor a realistic mode of dealing with an issue that has turned Australians into tenants of their own nation.

    • Can’t help agreeing with you, we should be beating up on the idiots in National here in NZ for their hand in it, NOT solely the Aussies who in the main are our friends.

  31. I can’t understand what was wrong with Hipkin’s question on behalf, perhaps, of the great fraternal party, the Australian Labour Party.

As they say, there is no such thing as an indiscrete question; just an indiscrete answer.

Either the dude is a NZ citizen, or he’s not. Why shouldn’t the question be asked?

  32. The NZ Labour Party came out of this hilarious Australian balls up looking pretty good. Not only are they not guilty of trying to undermine the Australian government, but they are accidentally accredited with exposing the Australian citizenship laws as nothing more than what they are ,bigoted, narrowed minded ,racist.
The way the Australia state treats New Zealanders living and contributing to the Australian economy is deplorable, basically second class status.
The deportations of people from Australia to New Zealand is puzzling, some have lived in Australia for years and many have been raised and educated in Australia, yet if they are deemed to be undesirables ,then they are New Zealanders, if they are law biding and achievers, they are accorded second class residency.
What has the National government done about the treatment New Zealanders and Australian born New Zealanders, bloody nothing.
    Well done Labour.

  33. I have no high and holy regard for ‘Jacinda’ –social media shturrup. Wake up after 10 years and a hangover. By implication, that.

Notice the right-wingers behind her. No more ’84.

  34. It may be time to withdraw from the ANZUS Treaty. The US has morphed into a toxic loose cannon and Australia is complicit in this abhorrence of a NAZI spectacle thundering down the tarmac towards us.
