TWITTER WATCH: Winston’s new twitter storm against Metiria has to be read to be believed

Grandad is on twitter again, this time Winston’s bizarre twitter storm against Metiria has to be read to be believed…

…so far so good, Winston’s cross burning, banjo twanging jamboree tour of the Provinces has inspired him to rashly attack the Maori electorates using lies like most Maori are on the General Roll, so I’m sure the good folk of Kaipara Grey Power are in for a knees up…

…powerful, wise words. Reckoning has a nice ring to it, Winston is going to the mountain top…

…hu? How has he jumped from a  day of reckoning for National and Labour to some weird stab at punters acknowledging the MoU between Labour and the Greens? Where’s Winnie off to here?

…there are a lot of Maori in the grass-roots of Labour, who are horrified that Winston is happy to start a civil war by allowing 85% of the country to rob the indigenous 15% of their electoral rights, I’m pretty sure they’re far more concerned with what Winston is prepared to do to gain power than Labour breaking bread with the Greens…

…ok, that’s a criticism that has been made for some time, but seeing as Labour is now run by a former Union boss and has Willie Jackson involved, that complaint is almost as old as Winston’s thinking on removing MPs from Parliament, but let’s see where Winnie is going with this Twitter storm…

…ummmm, what? How was the Greens attempt to work with National on policy they agreed on a signal that the Greens are going to trick Labour and prop up National?

…yes, they try and work with the Government on policy that is important to them, where is Winston going with this…

…ummmmmmmm, wtf?

…yes Winston. I’m terribly confused.

He’s like Trump but with better hair.

What the hell is this weird 9 part twitter storm over 4  minutes suggesting? That the Greens are going to prop up National post the election?

Is that what Grandad is honestly trying to insinuate?

Winston has blundered with his attack on the Maori electorates and he’s thrashing around wildly now.

His increasingly erratic behaviour should be concerning many within NZ First.

(while I was blogging on this he expanded his twitter storm by another 20 tweets)

  1. What the hell is Winston prattling on about the Greens being close to National, to they extent the party chose to sit closest to the Natz in Parliament??? And a MoU with the Natz in 2008???

First I’ve heard of it. Some real WTF statements there Winnie!

Excuse me if I have missed something here, but I definitely couldn’t see this happening under either Rod Donald’s or Russel Norman’s watch, for the reasons Winston has stated! No way!

Can’t even guess where Winston is taking this! Weird!

  2. I think he’s as pi55ed with the greens as I am after Metirias recent toy throwing spasm that isolated greens and labour from NZF.
Either way the chance of a left wing coalition beating a national NZF coalition is zero and I’m gutted about it.
sure winston is a racist but that could have been controlled differently, like over a table, not on twitter.
Metiria lacks diplomacy, both on twitter and in real time. She wasn’t able to bring herself to congratulate the president of the USA , upon election, and yes yes ,love him or hate him, politicians need to learn diplomacy.
Wars are created when diplomacy fails and Metiria is NOT diplomatic

  3. boring …boring…Bill English must be loving this trivia

Peters should ignore the Greens and get on with what matters

  4. “Alternative facts”.

So a former long-time National party MP whose latter party formed a coalition government with National is insinuating the Greens have a history of getting cosy with National?

This Trumpian behaviour entering the election here is rather depressing.

  5. Oh sweet baby cheeses.
Only a concerted, combined effort will remove the current crop of criminals from the govt benches.
But this inter-opposition party sniping is rapidly going beyond annoying and becoming destructive to the Opposition’s chances. Talk about mutually assured destruction.
Its just feeds Nazional’s attack lines and wastes valuable media coverage highlighting their anti-social inhuman policies – something an Opposition Party like NZF should be spending 100% of their time pointing out!
Someone please tell me there is clever strategy at play here that will result in the end of Nazionals reign of terror ‘cos I sure as f@ck can’t see it.
    FFS.

  6. EVERYONE FORGETS THAT WINSTON WAS SELECTED AND STOOD FOR THE NATIONAL PARTY UNTIL 1993 AND HAS NEVER BEEN OR HAS HAD SYMPATHY WITH LEFT WING CAUSES.

WATCH HIM SUPPORT THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT IN TEN WEEKS TIME AS DEPUTY PM.

HE IS A TRADITIONAL TORY AND OPPORTUNIST.

    • Winston NZF has certainly been consistently against the sale of State Assets…is this not a left wing cause?

      • RB – that is bullshit.

Peters was Treasurer when the National-NZ First coalition government sold off the State’s shares in Auckland Airport. Have you forgotten this? Or are you hoping we have?

The only reason Peters withdrew his support from the sale of State shares in Wellington Airport was because of massive public opposition.

Would you like me to find the media reports of the time? I can, you know. And I can make a decent ‘splash’ with a story I write on it.

So cut the crap about “Winston NZF has certainly been consistently against the sale of State Assets”. History shows otherwise.

    • Thank you for saying that MOSA.

I well remember Peters campaigning for one R D Muldoon back in the day.

Winston Peters is a fucking Tory…

  7. Hi Martyn

It should not be a surprise that two political groups namely The Greens and New Zealand First swing around on their own axis. Even if one of them has signed a MOU with Labour. It’s a weakness of MMP

No one knows what is in Mr Winston Peter’s mind. But no matter whether a majority of his supporters favour Labour, Winston is more likely to favour National.

Likewise, The Greens see themselves as more advanced than Labour in the important Envrionmental (eg anti pollution) and Technological issues (eg Light Rail). They would favour National if their issues were endorsed by National.

So both these two small Political Parties are showing their skirts to National and ignoring Labour.

Labour is the real Opposition. However, It has the fundamental no glitter issues of, Housing, Wages, Health, Education, Student Fees, Energy, Assets, and Controlled Immigration, so that enabling infrastructure is in place for all citizens in all areas, now and in the future.

So far as far as I know, Labour has not gone to NZ First, or to the Greens, to say that they would support them in the election provided the Labour bread and butter policies were accepted in full by them.

Two political dogs with little wagging tails, are grabbing all the media attention. While Labour with its very necessary bread and butter policy folio has next to no bark.

Labour needs to get NZFirst + The Greens to join Labour. A profound Trio.

A very necessary Trio. All Three must look to each other to make the new Parliament for the sake of Aotearoa.

Labour must state at every chance – that with the support of NZFirst, The Greens and Labour – “New Zealand can have what it desperately needs. A new Parliament to wipe out the appaling mistakes of the past and create the equality of the Future for All.”

  8. There is very little cross over between a Green voter and a NZ First voter.

So not sure it’s worth Winston bothering about to be going on about the Greens.. when there is 4% conservative voters to be wooed, 4% TOP to be gained and 43% of disgruntled National voters AKA Northland style to be gained.

It’s wasting time with bizarre irrelevant tweets and gripes of irrelevant opposition voters that is keeping National in power.

Scary stuff, if this is not 100% apparent to all politicians after 9 years!

  9. Meh. Let him tweet.

A large chunk of his followers are in fact the biggest beneficiaries in this country, and the biggest welfare demographic to boot.

  10. Despite many NZF supporters preferring their party form a coalition with Labour after September 23, if Winston Peters is offered some goodies for himself from Natz, that’s where his unprincipled, self indulgent ego will take him. To the dark side.

One man makes the decision, does what he wants, regardless of where his support base (and possibly NZF caucus) want to go. That’s a hint of dictatorship by my reckoning!
