Funny that government are pushing local councils to give the nod to new truck roads when Government at the same time are closing down regional rail!!!!!!
Guess what Government!!! see that the Manawatu gorge road may now be forced to close permanently we are told by NZTA today on RNZ!!!!
Then the Waioeka gorge is now as this morning also closed from Gisborne to opotiki with yet another massive slip.
Funny that as roading engineers tell us is is the heavier trucks and volumes that ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FRACTURING THE CLIFF FACES ABOVE OUR ROADS NOW SO RAIL IS NOW THE BEST CHEAPEST OPTION YOU STUPID POLITICIANS.

i meant +100 CLEANGREEN…it is crazy we are filling our roads with heavy dangerous freight trucks when we could be spending the millions on rail for freight instead of road repairs
…putting the dollars into rail freight would clear the roads, make them less congested and dangerous, and encourage tourism and eco-tourism with bicycles and motor bikes…the way roads are at the moment with heavy trucks, you take your life in your hands
….questions need to be asked if certain politicians have shares in freight trucking and road building….it certainly isn’t in the interests of a small country try to aim for the ecotourism market

You can bet the Oil Cartel are solidly behind shutting down rail as it uses five to 8 times less energy to move one tonne 1 km and does only a faction of cost to the air pollution and has no tyre pollution that is actually shedding tyre dust everywhere along our roads into our water systems to poison us and our food.!!!!!
One road carrying 20 000 vehicles on it, shed’s nine kilo’s of tyre dust per km.
Some grand Corporate plan to destroy our health & future.
