Whakarongo mai, listen. By P.Rimmer

Whakarongo mai,
Listen,
Can you hear the song,
It dances with you,
Your whole life long,
Music can put you back,
Where you were once before,
Again.
All our lives are time machines,
The older I am,
The more time I’ve been,
Whakarongo mai,
Listen,
Can you hear your song.
Dinosaurs stepping over my grave!
Giant steps,
Reverberate in sustained vision over my head,
I’m a time machine,
Dinosaur bones deep in the ground,
No way that I can turn around,
Fossil, Fossilised,
I’m stuck in time,
Whakarongo mai, listen,
Can you hear your song?
The music has taken your world,
And made it a song!
This is where I belong,
I’m a time machine,
Storing it up,
Spending it away,
We are colour,
We are melody,
We are discord,
We are Symphony!
Whakarongo mai, listen,
Can you hear your song?
We are time,
We are Time machines,
We are together,
We are apart,
We are together apart,
Each and every one of us,
We are time machines,
Marking time,
To our songs,
The music is in each and all of us,
Whakarongo mai,
Open your ears,
Fill your lungs,
And live your song.
