As the Republic of America begins to unravel in the wake of the shock election by Trump, the Fourth estate, our democratic watchdog of the powerful, are attempting to decipher the meaning and the anger of the decision.

So how is Patrick Gower justifying Mediaworks flying him to America to cover this and provide us with insight?

…I don’t know whether to laugh or fucking cry.

This is why we can’t have a functioning democracy people. Insightful cutting political journalism like that.

  1. Not really a surprise when you think about it.
Q: what is inside a pillow?
    A: fluff.
If you can get a more convincing example of a media interested in fluff then I would like to know about it, please.
One wonders where Gower was trained, journalism school or Entertainment This Week?

  2. Hey Martyn Patrick who?

They are only communicating with their target audience of zombies.

Remember they dont want you to think just watch and switch off.

By the way they are not journalists, just as John Pilger calls them echo chambers for the establishment.

  3. Real journalism is dead.

People like Gower are as John Pilger describes them as echo chambers for the establishment.

The NZ media doesnt want to educate or inform , just entertain.

Simple like the people who voted Trump, Clinton and John Key.

  4. He is one of a number of reporters that need to be sacked. There is no such thing as real journalism or journalists in this country.

  5. Great in depth coverage of a major issue. Why send so many clowns overseas to cover issues when they could stay at home and watch Fox news?

  6. He’s doing his job. He’s reporting pap to the masses. Trump is doing his job. He’s supplying pap leadership for the masses who’s brains are full of pap. Comfortable life has become about not much more than pap and the Americans lead the way in pap making.
Have a burger and fries with an adult happy ending. You’ll be fine. Nothing to see here.
No, really. Nothing to see because there’s nothing to see. We’ll all be living in an insured wonderland of mortgage debt and beige coloured houses made of ticky tacky and they’ll all look the same.
    Ticky tacky .
