Auckland University Student’s Association (AUSA) and The Daily Blog are teaming up to live stream the upcoming ‘Anti-Debate’.

The Anti-Debate, which will provide a platform for all Auckland Mayoralty candidates who have not been invited to participate in mainstream debates, will be held at Shadows, the Auckland University campus bar, at 7pm on Monday 26th September. The live steam will commence at 7pm on the Daily Blog.

“We’re really excited to be working with the team at the Daily Blog to ensure that this debate, and the messages of the candidates can reach as many Aucklanders as possible” says AUSA President Will Matthews.

AUSA is inviting all mayoral candidates who have so far been deprived of a platform to come to the Anti-Debate, where they will be given the opportunity to speak and interact with voters. Candidates who are interested in attending can contact Sarah Butterfield at peo@ausa.org.nz

Media is also welcome at this event, to ensure that the messages of the candidates can reach beyond the Anti-Debate.

  1. Thank you very much The Daily Blog,

You are simply the leading edge of free speech media, – by first getting out on Waatea and now AUSA steaming as a beginning of your efforts to level the free speech lacking today in our MSM.

So we all wish you very well, in all pursuits to bring free speech media into our homes just at the time when Government are closing down free speech on every other media in NZ.

Long live free speech for a healthier Democracy.

  2. Will this be recorded and made available on line somewhere? I ask because I am unsure if I will be able to watch it live.

  3. Great stuff this is! True democracy in action, while the MSM only presents us pre-selected “leading” candidates, little information and thus bias.

I hope that this news will spread, so that as many Aucklanders as possible will see and hear this, to get an impression of what alternatives there may be.
