Lisa McNab, President of the MANA Movement said she had recently talked with the Maori Party’s new President Tukuroirangi Morgan, to follow up on discussions held last week with MANA Leader Hone Harawira about possible working arrangements between both organizations.

“The MANA Movement recognizes the desire within Maoridom for MANA and the Maori Party not to fight with one another, but to try to work together for the betterment of Maori people”.

“MANA was born out of fundamental political differences with the Maori Party” said McNab “but we have always kept a door open for discussions with the Maori Party on unity within Maoridom”.

“The Maori Party’s new President Tuku Morgan publicly announced his willingness to enter into discussions with MANA leader Hone Harawira”.

“Our current plans are to stand a full set of candidates in the seven Maori seats” said McNab “but we are willing to consider strategic arrangements with the Maori Party to bring all Maori seats back into Maori hands and we will do so in a positive and respectful MANA enhancing manner”

  1. WE WELCOME THIS;

    As this evil Government are attempting to take the bonds between the average Pakeha and Māori apart, with their aim of “divide and rule”.

    This is an old system to take control by weaken the opposing will and voices of the oppressed, be it either Maori or Pakeha.

    And leave to wither & left on the poor ladder of the economy.

    Key &his criminals are very good at this so a union between the Maori is now essential to save our collective futures in the face of this separatist carpetbagger regime.

    Go Hone!

  2. Beware the wolf in sheep’s clothing.
    Morgan has shown his colours in the past.
    Most self serving are open to incitements.

    Mana does not stand for what the Maori party stands for. Deals must be two way not at Mana’s expense.

    The corporate Maori is divided from the rest.

  3. I trust Mana – I do not trust the Maori party – too long in bed with National and ‘very little’ for Maori to show for it. 8 years wasted.

  4. The Maori Party represents corporate maori only. It will be interesting to see whether they can accommodate the aspirations of Maori as represented by the Mana Party. For the future sake of Maori I hope it is possible.
