  1. John key had a go at Greens co leader James Shaw in parliament.

Key: “So what the member does is parade on TV like he cares about New Zealanders, but he cares so little he’s not prepared to change the law – he can keep smiling but why doesn’t he do something about it?”

Why doesn’t John key follow his own advice then? Why doesn’t John key do something about the housing bubble his government has actively promoted? John key is always all about abuse with no action, and he is showing he doesn’t care one bit about New Zealanders, His arrogant denials in the face of it show John Key holds New Zealanders with utter condescending contempt. And blaming Labour doesn’t wash anymore either. Crosby Textor need to find him a new line, John the Con is looking washed up and horrendously stale.

Funny how John Key called it a housing crisis in 2007 when houses were half the cost and interest rates were higher, but now kiwis have been locked pout of the market with average houses in Auckland hitting the million + mark, even though interest rates are a lot lower, and at least kiwis still had a chance of getting into their own homes back then, but they most certainly can’t now. So, how can John key explain that? He can’t, because then he would have to admit that there IS a crisis, that his government is a failure, (except for the rich here and offshore), and he will be forced to do something about it that he really, really doesn’t want to do.

And how about the media pulling John key up on his bullshit? Interest rates are being kept low to stop the tanking dairy industry, key’s fake economy and National’s about to pop housing bubble from blowing up in his face. The fallout of which, would be of such monumental proportions, that John key and his government will never be able to survive it. So wake up New Zealand and smell the realities of the last 8 years of treasonous dishonest John the Con. John key doesn’t have the stomach for, nor does he have any intention to sort the mess he has made, that’s not part of his private agenda, as he points the finger at others to blame or demand that they fix it, he wants someone else to take the fall, so all he wants to do is lie, he thinks dumb kiwis will take his word for it, but in the end, John key just doesn’t give a stuff either way.

  2. On trollcity.co.nz (aka stuff) another example of National’s “deflect” response to the housing troubles.
An article spouting off about how Labour should be so happy about the crisis because it is their chance (one and only by inference) to really get at National. Written by another anonymous stuff troll.
Typically doesn’t put the blame where it lies with National, but tries to deflect by implying that Labour is gloating about it.
To accuse another party of gloating about other people’s misfortunes for political gain is really quite despicable, but business as usual for National.
This article must have come straight from John Key’s office.

  3. Here’s a bit of a contradiction.
National believes in (free)market forces being the solution for just about everything right?
OK, so can the right wing trolls explain why John Key is so upset about the Reserve Bank apparently (according to Key) not doing enough about the housing crisis?
The Reserve Bank is part of government right?
So market forces have failed once again.
Bang goes the credibility of your dear leader who washes his hands of another crisis because his cherished market forces aren’t up to the job and he doesn’t have alternative plan B.
You really know how to pick the bad apple out of the barrel you sub-bridge lurkers!
The National government are an incompetent bunch of fork tongued losers.

  4. Even the Reserve Bank of NZ has now accepted that unconstrained, significant immigration plays a role in the housing price and affordability crisis, yet even Phil Twyford cannot mention that, being overly afraid of being labeled a “repeat offender”, following the Chinese name list fiasco.

Winston and NZ First are smiling, Labour are too afraid to mention the elephant in the room, the Greens are also afraid. Simply increasing supply will achieve NADA, unless demand is also curtailed, as demand for housing also puts immense pressure on infrastructure, and many other services, costing us massively for years to come.

Nobody wants to realise, resources are limited, including water and land, and we cannot simply keep growing for growth sake.

Big fail not only for the government, also for Labour and Greens, in failing to really and honestly addressing the whole challenge.

Let us also not forget the huge demand will lead to high wage and other cost increases, as we already have builders in Auckland charge exorbitant rates for fixing even simple things in existing homes. What about 700 dollars for a plumber replacing a simple small bit of water pipe in only 20 minutes work.

This is what we have now, and with greed all over, as this government and neoliberals encourage, we will get NO affordable housing in the foreseeable future, for years to come, even if we had “Kiwi Build” refreshed and released once again.

But never trust the Beltway idiots with dealing with all this, they live in their own political bubble.

We need a housing bubble burst for a start, as what we have now will not lead to any improvements.
