Oh dear. Right wing hate speech merchant, Cameron Slater has had his suppression lifted and it turns out he’s been convicted of paying Rachinger $5000 to try and hack the Standard...

The blogger who was infamously hacked and then exposed in Dirty Politics has himself admitted hiring someone to illegally access the computer files of opponents.

Whale Oil’s Cameron Slater has been granted diversion by police for attempting to hire Ben Rachinger for $5000 to get into the left-wing “The Standard” blog. Instead of being convicted and sentenced, he has arranged to do 40 hours work for the children’s charity Kidscan.

Judge Richard McIlraith said: “He has accepted his guilt and embarked upon a programme of diversion to address that.”

…so after years of screaming about the powerful being able to get name suppression, Slater tried to get name suppression for trying to pay someone to hack a blog? So he’s a criminal and a hypocrite?

He’s a disgrace. Dirty Politics, taking money from corporates to attack health campaigns, he’s as rotten to the core as it gets, and all those words he wrote trying to claim he was innocent is just the icing on the cake.

Why does the PM still call him a mate? Why does Judith Collins still call him? Why does a Mayoralty candidate have him on his campaign team?

Slater has managed to implode and this latest cocktail of hypocrisy and criminal offending must signal his end of influence in civil society.

  1. I fear he has reached your level of retardation.

[Higherstandard, your comment slipped past my moderation. But be warned, one more like that and I will ban you immediatly. – ScarletMod]

    • Don’t you have a job or something that can occupy you Lower Standard?
Most of us have to work for a living, we don’t just occupy ourselves trolling on blogs to feed our egos.
There is a life out there just waiting for you.
Nah, much more fun being a frustrated troll eh?
      I pity you.

    • HAHAHAHAA !!!!….

Sooooo… we now have a supporter of the Slater , do we?

      Hmmm…OK…

I and thousands of others recall that you , HIGHERSTANDARD , – as well as being counted among that number of the same right wing fanatical supporters of Slater ( and by association viewing with distaste his diversion by Police) as being among the same characters who have been lurking on this blogsite standing up for John Key on innumerable occasions…

Including being among that number of over zealous ( almost religiously ) right wing fanatical denier’s that John Key has anything to do with the Panama Papers – and to which I will present you with the privilege of taking the full brunt of the public’s ridicule as you have come to so justly and richly deserve.

      Answer this :

I put to you this and to members of the New Zealand public this question :
      ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

      1) How many of you would be comfortable in the fact that currently our foreign trust laws could potentially enable child pornography and human trafficking rings to flourish with total impunity and to continue to reap the benefits of their perverted industry unfettered from Police and public scrutiny ?

      2) How many of you would be comfortable in the fact that Interpol or the NZ Police would be hampered in their attempts to bring charges because our current foreign trust laws did not disclose the true nature of the business or who the true directors / benefactors of the trust were ?
      ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

      Answer that if you dare.

And no… do not try and deflect and say this Slater issue has nothing to do with the Panama Papers. We are not little children. We all know your political allegiances and ideology’s and that they have been found to be wanting.

And no amount of trying to reverse what has been decided in our courts by popular opinion through this blogsite will gain you any traction , – as will no amount of deflection by trying to frame this global Panama Papers issue as a ‘ local ‘ issue or a ‘ beat up ‘ on Key will help your cause.

You , your right wing colleagues , and your right wing fanaticism have been outed without even a political shot being needed to be fired at the Key led National govt.

You are , as they say, … ‘ in a very weak position to bargain ‘ ….

      • Great job Wild Kapito again ! – well said and agree with you completely.
Its people like Blubber Slater and Lower Standard that will be slinking back under their rocks as their stupidity gets exposed more and more.

Thanks Martyn, I know you enjoyed posting this article after all the hell you have gone through with this criminal journo with no ethics and a waste of space. I am glad he is continually be exposed.
“Dirty Politics” a great book about all of this that I highly recommend.

    • That’s the spirit! Quality comments from right-wing shills really elevate the level of debate around here. Thanks for your contribution HS.

      • Quality comments – Oh please. What rock do you dwell under ?
You guys are all about stirring up shit and offering nothing of quality and are a waste of our time and energy. Go elsewhere and peddle your nonsense, you biased uneducated pile of pro Natz insanity.

    • 1) Shouldn’t the Sensuble Sentuncing Thrust have someone’s conscience to prick about this?

      2) NZ Police have indeed been asked to self-enlighten and exercise more discretion for diversion and warnings. Great. But once you ask such a cultish system to “exercise discretion”, this is what they’ll come up with.

      3) The Police spokeswoman did well to try and wiggle out of it. “No victims!” she claimed. Yet, the victim impact statement made it clear it seemed, from the end of the relevant Herald article, deep down, one paragraph from the bottom:

“The whole point of someone going off and paying for a hack on a computer is deeply disturbing to anyone in the IT industry.”

      4) Perhaps this case was taken in South Auckland as it was perceived that it is removed from modern realities?

      5) I wonder how much the media will report on the inconsistencies in Police treatment of this guy and Hager, given how far down you had to read that article to realise the Victims whatever Act was critically ignored.

    • yes, yes, Cameron Slater bad, me good…. but how do we figure this out? How should we read this? How well is he mentally? Is he even important? Didn’t he once have lots of text messages with the PM? What was that about? All these questions…

    • So-called “Higherstandard”, I suspect the irony of your offensive post escapes you, doesn’t it?

    • “I fear he has reached your level of retardation.”

Well, isn’t that an intelligent thing to say? (note sarcasm)

How old did you say you are, HS? Ten?

  2. I’m glad that Slater has been exposed for the ridiculous person he is. I’m equally glad that he didn’t succeed because I would lose sleep over the thought that this unstable, narcissistic, sociopath had access to my personal information.

  3. Not to mention that Slater has the ego of a pro-wrestler. Remember when he challenged Labour MP Trevor Mallard to a bike race and gushed about how he would make Mallard eat his dust. Slater couldn’t even finish the race.
And more recently how Jesse Ryder knocked the big clown on his arse in the first round of a boxing match after Slater had bragged about how he would knock Jesse out in the first round.
Slater has become something that he thinks everybody else is – a nobody.

  4. It’s just a shame some other people don’t accept theirs, otherwise hypocrisy is certainly alive and well.

      • From now on we must simply totally ignore higher standard completely as it could actually be the man centred in this article himself.

These people are dirty politics merchants nothing more and we claim the high standard of offering constructive concerns that aim to repair damage these lower standard merchants seed all around to corrupt the country.

      • Yes frank,
A dirty politics black opp’s is this Prime Minister’s preferred policy it appears.

The fact that Nicky Hagar correctly reported this in his book, that “dirty Politics” is connected through the PM’s office to National Party policy is well and alive.

Clearly again it was spawned again by John Key yesterday again when he was found this morning as Key had falsely claimed Green Peace was featured as a “beneficiary”.

Key said it was in the panama papers in Parliament again as he releases his tirade but this morning Russell Norman was on Radio NZ saying that the reference the PM used was part of a false scam found by a court overseas investigators as false already, so the PM is again lying so chalk yet another to the PM’s lying index please for this next election?

This is a long list last submitted in 2014 so it should be re constructed again Frank?

tl;dr 150+ lies and hypocrisies, catalogued with sources.

I read this and wanted to get all Key’s lies in one place. Thanks to /u/stevo_stevo for the idea and starter list!

Please comment with any lies or hypocrisies that have been missed!

I did this because I knew Key lied a lot, I didn’t understand the quantity and scope til now – so, I have no answer how his popularity increases – must be the 50% in the polls are woefully ill-informed or are blind to the facts….

We get the politicians we deserve.

22 More GCSB – at least Key’s pal is in charge now…

“The spymaster who initially cleared the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) of illegally snooping on Kim Dotcom was also directly involved in seeking the suppression order signed by Bill English as Acting Prime Minister.”

The Herald has learned former chief legal adviser Hugh Wolfensohn was involved in arranging the once-in-a-decade certificate which sought to bury the scandal.

The Prime Minister confirmed yesterday for the first time it was Mr Wolfensohn’s advice that quelled GCSB and police fears they had illegally spied on Mr Dotcom and his co-accused Bram van der Kolk.

He told Parliament: “The best of the legal advice presented by Hugh Wolfensohn was that it was legal. As we now know, GCSB and Mr Wolfensohn were wrong.*

Mr Wolfensohn no longer works at the bureau after being placed on “gardening leave”. A spokesman for the GCSB said of Mr Wolfensohn’s advice: “With hindsight, we know it wasn’t right.”

23 John Key: ‘I’ve never lied about Kim Dotcom’, 21/11/2012 False – from 5 Oct 2012 and One video exposes Key, GCSB’s & Banks’ Dotcom lies

24 “Gerry Brownlee breaches airport security rules”. Every other National MP that has broken much less serious rules (and got caught) has been removed from their position. Hypocrisy

26 “The good news was I was having dinner with Ngāti Porou, as opposed to their neighbouring Iwi ,which was Tuhoi, in which case I would have been dinner” (audio)

        Another 143 here.

@ArchieDaRival doing an admirable job with “John Key’s 69 top lies”

With some duplicates from the 143 and the above, a number of around 150 seems fair.

        Honourable mentions

1.John Key being a dick about GCSB (to tax payers and) Russel Norman in question time.

2.Eight NZ politicians who were forced to resign

3.Key rejects criticism over Mubarak comments – Supporting a tyrant and a dictator with no representation for the Egyptian people was fine because Mubarak supported Israel

4.Open letter to Eugene Bingham or would you have voted for John Key if you had known

        i. The true relationship John Key had with Andrew Krieger and the attack on the NZ dollar in late 1987.

ii. The role John Key had in the Asian Crisis, the Russian collapse and the collapse of the LTCM hedgefund.

iii. The role John Key had in the Subprime trade and the real timeline of the Subprime crisis and the subsequent collapse of the global economy.

Using the evidence above and the ‘smile’:

        Sociopathic Traits

        John Key’s History

        Career

        • Investment banker, New Zealand for 10 years

        • Investment banker, Merrill Lynch 1995-2001

        • Member, Foreign Exchange Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York 1999-2001

Merrill Lynch Senior Executive Steve Bollotti said of John Key “he revolutionised the blue blood investment banking sector.” Note: The GFC.

“Fran O’Sullivan: Key chases luck o’ the Irish” – Ireland since bankrupted by bankers.

        • Excellent – Thanks and I agree that folks like LOWER STANDARD are not worth our time or energy. To reply to their nonsense just fuels their ignorance and lack of any ethics.
Pretend that Higher Standard is just a little sad boy who can not seem to understand the truth and keeps backing his serial lying leader who is going down fast.

  5. Slater and HigherStandard are simply your average Nat voter – don’t set them up to fail by expecting reasonable standards of ethical behaviour!

  6. Is this not the worst case of someone conspiring and paying for illegal hacking, to have been before the NZ courts. Is diversion appropriate for a repeat offender, since there was already substantial documented evidence that the accused had previously illegally hacked into a political party website? Maybe the sentence could be appealed in the interests of commonsense? Conspiring and paying for and stealing digital information by illegally accessing a computer system – compare this treatment, to the treatment of others by the justice system, etc. The complete secrecy due to strong court suppressions, followed by diversion, and none of this would have come to light, if 3news had’t got the suppression lifted, on an accused person who has a track record of contemp of court suppression orders. And immediately after admitting guilt to get the diversion, the accused outside the court has mocked the diversion process, by saying he hadn’t really paid for the hack, that he admitted to the court he had. Please name the judge, because that would certainly be the judge that I would ask for. If it feels like a setup, looks like a set up, and quacks like a setup, what is it, and who has pulled the strings? This has been the best justice money can buy, when you’ve got rich mates, in high places. I await the headline that says the german guy has been offered diversion. If rawshark is identified and prosecuted, then to be consistant, would they also be offerred diversion? On that day, look out for low flying pigs.

  7. Yes Martyn, Jack and Frank,

WE NOW DEPERATELY NEED AN “INDEPENDANT CORRUPTION COMMISSION”

    https://www.icac.nsw.gov.au/

(to whom we can report these issues to for investigation) AS OUR CLOSEST PARTNERS ALREADY HAVE!!!!

    THE GOVERNOR GENERAL IS USELESS!!!!

As NZ is really mired absolutely inside corruption practices through PM John Key and his lawyers to stop the Tax changes in Foreign trusts in 2013/14 through shady meanings with the Minister of Revenue, we need a stand alone (independent) “Commission of Corruption” as most other countries already have (including Australia) is severely required URGENTLY NOW SO PLEASE SEND OUT A OPPOSITION PARTY MESSAGE PLEASE.

  8. Slater questioned a camera crew on who they were and then proceeded to call them w..kers.

This is the type of person Key describes as “I only associate myself with those of the highest standards” in reference to his lawyer.

    I feel assured!

  9. Cameron Slater gets diversion as punishment for his crime, while Nicky Hager is treated like a common criminal, has his home raided by police, family hassled and personal possessions confiscated, then destroyed by law enforcement officers!

While I do realize it has since been found the police actions against Hager were wrong, why were police allowed to to do this in the first place?

On instruction from higher up I’d say.

Yet Slater, friend and confident of FJK ….. ????

Where’s the justice? In the pocket of corrupt politicians?

I’m looking forward to the day when the mentally fragile GreasyWhale has a complete blowout, causing him to expose all and sundry in his raves and rantings!

  10. Slater gets what his rabid right-wing supporters always complain about when dealing with crims – a slap on the hand with a wet bus ticket.
If it had been a left-wing blogger in the same position he/she would be shut up behind bars.
