And yet another person has publicly stepped forward and admitted they are trying to seek medicinal cannabis to ease pain.

Pike River widow Anna Osborne has suffered enough. Having lost her partner because the Labour Department was too spineless and ineffective to force real safety in his place of work, she has been suffered another blow by being forced to become a criminal to obtain medicinal cannabis because our inane laws claim there is no medicinal benefit in Cannabis.

Anna Osborne join Sir Paul Holmes, Sir Martin Crowe and Helen Kelly as needing to become criminals to get a medicine far less damaging to their health and far more beneficial to them than what is currently provided.

Why should sick people become criminals?

Medicinal cannabis is not the only positive we would get if we legalised cannabis. A regulated market would ensure a supply of medicinal quality cannabis, end gang profits, provide new vast untapped taxation, boost our tourism and dramatically cut costs in Policing and prisons.

This bullshit has gone on long enough – we need a referendum on this bloody issue and someone within politics who has the courage to champion it.

  1. I completely agree but unfortunately I don’t think we’re likely to get a change in the law until the next left of centre govt.

    • The last left of centre government was completely useless in this regard – and the Labour party’s response so far has been pathetically feeble.

  2. I feel for this lady she has a very honest face and we should give her wish as she wants simply.

I was Chemically poisoned 24 yrs. ago and still suffer the effects so know about chronic pain and even have to resort to alterative treatments that the country doesn’t offer so I continue to pay my own way and she why we need to allow personal choice folks as one medicine doesn’t fit all and some treatments can cause severe reactions while others don’t.

Compassion is the name of the game here.

  3. The cannabis plant was declared a criminal in the 1930,s this plant has thousands off uses and had been used for thousands of years US corparates had it declared criminal because of new emerging technologies ie petro-chemical industries among others these industries could not stand the competion from hemp seed fuel etc a clean burning renewable resource. legalizing cannabis won,t make it compulsory.surely in this day and age people have the choice as to how they medicate ie natural remedies as oppossed to whatever that chemical shit is your dr can prescribe

  4. All over NZ people are sourcing cannabis to try to treat themselves.

A young person in our town died an awful death from Cancer two years ago but not before he and his mates had spent thousands of dollars on buying weed and trying to process it into a usable oil to treat his cancer .
It’s not just famous or well known people this is happening to.

    F*ck Peter Dunne !
How long has Helen Kelly been waiting for now ?

  5. A non binding referendum is just another way to waste time on this issue that is hurting and killing thousands of NZ’ers every year.
The ignoramus have been putting good people in jail for our whole lives so why would I want to give them another chance to continue.
