Bradley Ambrose joins Jon Stephenson and Nicky Hager as journalists who have had to be paid out by the Government or employ legal measures after Key has slandered and denigrated them.

This attack on the media should lead the news and give insight to the very cold heart of John Key and the ramifications to our democracy but it won’t because the Batchelor has a double elimination coming up and the context of these actions must be put to one side and never explored.

  1. Key suffers no penalty for his acts , its our money paying for the costs.
Key pulls a girls hair a number of times, gets away with it,even puts one of his henchwoman to try to show the girl was at fault.
Nicky Hagar was raided illegally. Key got his planted man in Westpac to make sure Hagars bank details were handed over illegally.
The arrogance of this ignorant man knows no bounds ,in his mind he owns the law,and the police ,in fact all services are his to do what he like with. Keys actions are similar to a dictatorship.

  2. “SneaKey” certainly has a track record of getting personal and using the cops and courts on media companies and journalists and academics where he seeks to protect “brand Key”

e.g. Stephenson, Greenwald, Hager, Catton and Ambrose/White; and while the latter is a bit of a past dodgepot that should not make him open season for vindictive Prime Ministers

  3. Unfortunately it was the tax payer who paid for this from the parliamentary leaders fund which is so so wrong it should’ve come out of Keys own pocket

    • Ah..
No, I think the government ( Us ) should have paid for jonky’s bullying arrogances. But then jonky should have gone. I mean gone. Out of parliament and off to court for treason, defamation, liable and slander.
It’s chilling that he , in fact, hasn’t been nabbed by the cops on the instructions of our invisible Governor General. Clearly, our government has been hijacked by criminals and as a result of that, we’re ungoverned. I personally think we’re extremely vulnerable right now and we should be deeply concerned.

      • hi countryboy, love your work bro
key will never be held to account while he has all his brown tongues in positions of power
my only hope is that he fucks off and disses hooters , gets him offside, then hooters can try and get the boys to go round haha hooters what a fucking dropkick

      • But isn’t National’s ill gotten slush fund from the tax payer after they sold our money making assets?

    • Isn’t that what currency traders like John key do, use other people’s money, instead of their own? John key is a thieving crook.

  4. Leaders’ budgets are an unregulated slush fund. Taxpayers’ hair would fall out if they knew what some of it is used for, right across the spectrum.

Yet it’s only leaders (and Ministers, but they come under Internal Affairs) who are afforded this laissez-faire attitude; when I bought a CD once (to obtain a copy of the national anthem in English and Maori) I was called up by Parliamentary Services and quizzed about whether I was expecting the taxpayer to add to my record collection. The amount at stake was something like $20.

    • So our own parliament doesn’t have the official versions of our anthem on hand for staff to use for events?
      That’s odd.
So what is the role of Parliamentary Services then, are they a gatekeeper or a facilitator?

  5. Bugger! I so wanted this to go to court just to see Key in the witness box. Never mind, better Ambrose gets the dosh and gets on with his life than lawyers get their overpaid paws on it; but, Ambrose had to start legal action to get recognition of the damage done to his life by this gutless douche-bag we have for a PM. Looking forward to the Eminem resolution. More farcical behavior from these arrogant Tory halfwits will be on display. Doubt the MSM will take a blind bit of notice. But the payouts are adding up.

  6. Ambrose has stated he has been a longtime National Party and John Key supporter. I felt it’s just too bad for him that his idol ended up biting him.

I’m also glad i did not contribute to Ambrose’s legal fund appeal.

By not continuing he has let down all who contributed.

    • Trouble is the High Court Rules say that settlement must be tried and agreed to, if it is offered and reasonable. That is why government departments and Ministries like to settle, it enables them to keep cases out of the courts, saving them from embarrassment, potential legal precedents and even more costs.

Key must have received legal advice to settle, hence he agreed to it, apparently grudgingly, as he would not apologise.

And with that Ambrose had little option, as a judge may have told him the settlement offer was reasonable, so no chance of a proceeding.

  7. Funny in a section titled “Deconstructing headlines” there’s a headline which says “PM pays cameraman out in defamation case”

To deconstruct that a little, shouldn’t it read, “We (the taxpayers) paid the cameraman out”?

  8. Soon after the event, I went to the high court for some case about this.
I, with reporters the judge, lawyers, etc. watched a 20 minute clip of the tea meeting from 3 different cameras (TV3 or 1?).
Neither Bradley nor Key were present at court.
It was blatantly obvious that leaving the recorder on the table was a careless mistake, without any intent.
Also discussed was how customers at the next table could have chosen to listen to the entire conversation,i.e. there should have been no expectation of privacy by Key.
The second day I went, the judgement that was going to be delivered, got cancelled. Can’t remember why now.

  9. It should perhaps rather read “Taxpayer pays cameraman out in defamation case”, if the TV3 and TV One news are right.

So Key is trying to have it paid from a budget for his “Leader’s Office”, which we all pay for him to run.

The man has no moral integrity, none whatsoever, remember his gesture when someone tried jumping off the public balcony in Parliament a year or two ago. That should tell us all, his throat slitting gesture then.

No apology and not one cent paid by him from his personal accounts, what a disgrace we have as “leader” of the country.

  10. Doesn’t this graphically show the price of corrupt government?
We all pay for it, in the end.

  11. Of course Key would not reach into his own pocket to pay the cost of shooting his mouth off. Filthy rich men are usually tight and mean. Shows up in the research….the richer the person the less they give away….the less money people have the more generous they are.

On the same line of reasoning, I have never believed that Key donates any/all of his salary to charity….becUse it just does not fit with his type

I would expect too that if he actually did donate that he would be non stop selfies with the recipient. Would not be able to help himself.

Interesting that his spin merchants have often run a variant of the line about his enormous wealth as Trump is now using….Key is so rich that he doesnt need the money….he is PM with all the hassle it involves for the country he has always loved and the good of us all. Like Trump he is touted as above money. Yeah right.

Someone please write a post comparing the two men.

Key was always keen that we see him as like Obama….the truth is he is a celebrity “Leader” created by spin for the benefit of the 1% and the nourishment of his own shrivelled need for attention and power….just like Trump.

  12. Ok. I will kick it off….Pass it on. Add your own observations.

All the ways Key is like Trump.

    Both flaunt their wealth.

Both are tied up with the Casino Industry with its links to organised crime and money laundering.

Both threaten any media who criticise.

Both seemed to be embarrassed about going bald.

Both see golf as a way to fit in with the wealthy.

Both fawn over and cultivate celebrity

Both make vulgar jokes and comments in public.

Both become incoherent when asked to explain policies that seem to contradict previous positions.

Both lie easily and without shame or embarrassment

Both find saying sorry for their mistakes impossible.

Both try to shift the blame for mistakes onto others

Both often re write history to suit themselves

Both mock science based or educated criticisms.

Both whip up fear and loathing of the Muslim religion

Both turn their backs on the worst refugee crisis since WW2

Both glory in flags and associating themselves with the military .

Both adore winners and abhor those who lose.

Both have built reputations for enjoying firing people.

Both speculate publically about which famous and beautiful young women they could happily bang

Both change their religious status to suit the audience they are talking to.

Both made their fortunes in much loathed industries

    (to be continued)

  13. How Key is like Trump (continued)

Both claim anyone protesting their policies is paid/rented

Both have nasty tempers when under pressure

    • How is Key like Trump (continued)

Both rate best with angry old white men

Both try to scare us with terror stories.

Both get status awarded for straight talking, ignoring the fact that today’s political correctness was yester years’ good manners.

  14. Could the Blog remind us of the offensive bits of dialogue revealed by the tape, which were why the politicians hushed it up so as not to lose an election? Because that is the real issue surrounding this tape: the cynicism it revealed by the two party leaders, about pensioners I believe? And the further cynicism of using the law to silence the message.
