The ease with which John Key and the GCSB are able to manipulate the fawning mainstream media is honestly an art form.

Take this ridiculous ‘Jihadi Brides’ crap – does anyone know where this all came from? It came up during the Intelligence Committee review, the GCSB was being questioned over the role they played in spying for Tim Groser’s WTO job, the GCSB said they couldn’t discuss that because it was an ‘operational’ matter but then jumped onto a tangent of young NZ women going to Syria. It was Key himself as Chair of the Committee who used the term ‘Jihadi Brides’ and all of a sudden, instead of asking questions about why the bloody hell the GCSB was spying to get Tim Groser the WTO job, all the media are talking about is ‘Jihadi Brides’.

The ‘Jihadi Brides’ story is just to keep the media distracted from demanding some answers about why our spying apparatus was breaking the law to try and get Tim bloody Groser a job. Who did the GCSB spy on to get Groser the job? Who authorised that? What happened to the information they obtained? Were our trading partners involved? Were other 5 Eyes nations used? Is this what the GCSB is supposed to be doing? None of those questions are now being asked because of ‘Jihadi Brides’.

This is a farce.

    The media build it up,as they are told too,
    Does it not seem strange that the herald is moving but dosnt say where,?
    Key himself might disappear, leaving the mess to Judith Collins to make worse.
    Maybe a new election in new year,but the damage has been done the new world order might be moving in, nothing should surprise us, Its Hawaii for The prime sinister,maybe never to return , hes completed the tpp ,the last job on his list. The flag could be passed to someone else,Key knows it wont favour him so he maybe has given it to someone else to rig.Feb should be interesting and probably unpleasant.

    • If it actually was a false flag shenanigan, it would be a welcomed development as it would imply some resemblance planing. That’s not the case.

      Far from NZDF ramping up acquisitions, there budget as a share of GDP is actually declining.

      Nah, this is just a bunch of treasury officials playing war games with there spreadsheets

    Barely the year of Dirty Politics is over than we get more of the same from Key. Any one of the questions in the above paragraph could stand on its own as a charge in court if evidence was produced and skulduggery was found.

    And those aiding and abetting in overlooking a crime being committed ( in this case the media present ) could be charged as well for failing to report it.

  6. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was some kind of rating agency on a country’s mainstream media in terms of freedom of press and ability to keep a government honest.
    I’m sure NZ would have fallen massively in the last few years if there was.
    TVNZ is now so biased it’s ridiculous, Hoskings nightly government propaganda rant shows how low TVNZ has gone now.

    • Here Here. Patrick. Lets hope the NZ public is not as dumb as those in the USA, the UK and Europe who swallow this crap hook, line and sinker . The big disappointment is the lack of enquiry by TV and Radio who could just as easily have found the link you have shown.
