International end violence against sex workers day is on December 17th. A Facebook post in my feed from a sex worker activist highlighted the use of warning text trees used by sex workers in NZ and the appalling abuse they have to put up with was shocking. With their permission, here is a recap of the last 3 months worth of texts from sex workers working NZs sex industry.
(keep in mind that the txt tree is run by 2-3 women reporting what they hear from fellow workers and will only be a small percentage of what workers are facing on our streets)
- Watch out for 2 guys on St demanding money.1 wearing red, 1 in white. One may be Samoan. Don’t hesitate 2 call police if you feel threatened. Take care
- Two sexual assaults on ***** road last nite. 1. Red Holden sedan, euro guy, 30’s, tatts on neck & thigh. 2. White van, tinted windows, Indian guy plus 2 others hiding in van. Any info please txt back. Be very careful out there.
- Young euro guy on foot, blonde/brown curly hair, skinny, white beach hat, red singlet. Wanted BJ without condom, assaulted worker & stole her handbag. Any info please txt us. Take care.
- Avoid dark blue Subaru Legacy stationwagon, poss damage to passenger side mirror. Euro guy, late 20’s, “*****” sexual assault. Any info plse txt.
- Indian man, tubby, Silver/gold Nissan Bluebird Sylphy, rego ******. Very gropey, became aggro, tried to run worker over & robbed her. She was hospitalised, out on bail with curfew. Take care.
- Serial rip off artist!!! ****** etc, euro, bald, bushy beard, tatts on hands, fat, mids 20’s. ON BRACELET. Time waster, tells lots of stories, wants you to get undressed, says he has to go to bank for money. NEVER pays & has been known to rob workers. Do NOT book with this man. Take care.
- Maori guy, 40’s, solid build but skinny legs, tatts, hoodie, on foot. Paid for BJ but then raped & robbed worker. Take care everyone.
Apparently according to the “authorities” in NZ (I have this info from an extremely reliable source) a level of violence is an expected part of sex work.
If a sex worker is injured (physically or psychologically) by a violent customer this is the line ACC spin anyway.
Which would be kinda like telling a forestry worker who is injured that it’s an expected part of the job. After all, it’s a dangerous job.
And that’s not acceptable.
what i don’t get is we would help some woman but not if they don’t act like a square.
I was against woman in combat rolls, but maybe they deserve a shot at kicking some ass
Well, I’d be happier to give single parent women my tax money to help them avoid the temptation of delving into a world they think they have a handle on but ALWAYS end up getting eaten alive by the job.
Instead of giving it to Media Works to promote The Jonky Product ( estimates ) Steven Joyce @ $ 42 million, Sir Jandles Jackson @ 134 million to fuck over our film industry workers a currency face-change @ $ 7 – 8 million per year to line the pockets of sundry government printer hangers on for the next five years or a flag change @ + $ 26 million to psychologically prepare is for the loss of the sovereignty our country to the highest Zionist bidder .
Wouldn’t it be better $-sense to ensure women specifically were secure in the rearing of their kids so as those same kids were happier, more empathetic and creative therefore more able to contribute to NZ in a positive way than end up on the floor beside a dysfunctional mother and no father figure to be seen? The reason that the above will not be countenanced is because we’re being lorded over by dumb, ugly politicians with a special predilection for Hate and we’re all too weak and scared to do anything direct to change that.
We allow monsters to roam about preying on severely at risk women trying to keep afloat while their politicians spit down at them from their luxury cruise liner.
