Who the bloody hell is advising I Love Ugly? Is it Cameron Slater? After managing to offend anyone with a passing interest in social justice with this weeks sexist advert, they have dug themselves deeper by simply reversing the people being naked.
Remember, I Love Ugly’s first justification was effectively that douchebags might feel their heterosexuality challenged by wearing rings, so to reaffirm their non-gayness they had clothed men holding and cupping naked women. Let’s just acknowledge what a douchebag belief that is to have in the first place and only manages to make the entire advertising campaign even more worthless than it first comes across.
Douchebags.
To then roll out naked men being cupped by clothed women as a response to the first catastrophic blunder shows I Love Ugly has no clue and their fashion brand is a brand for douchebags.
I’ve never used douchebags so many times in one blog.
You know what’s funny?
If this had been the first ad you and the outrage brigade would never have noticed it among the countless other similar advertisements.
And I’d have to agree.
I don’t think the same message gets applied in this ad compared to the original ad because the male in this ad looks to powerful to be subjugated to the female.
If he had been on the ground and a heel placed on his throat I think it would have been a more equal “domination/power” message given across in both ads.
(and those rings are really ugly, they must be hoping they become a fad before people realise how ugly they are.)
With a name like I love Ugly, you would have to think their very inspiration could have come from Whalespew
Slater should market a ‘false rape accusation’ whistle ….. he could buy 1 and blow it on himself next time he feels one of those posts coming on.
Other products which are natural for him …… west coast running shoes
an active Auckland prostitute and live porn index
Handbags shaped like boxing gloves ………
Judith Collins Halloween masks……
Bush-mans lawyers guide
There’s heaps of stuff the lost sole could sell ……….. having no shame is his trademark
