An interesting insight after hours was how dire the future at TV3 are for their Journalists. The massive drop in ratings – helped along by the social media campaign to boycott TV3 after their killing off of Campbell Live for political reasons – will see high profile Journalists sacked or resigning before the end of the year.

This is good news for NZ as TV3 is now acknowledged as just a mouthpiece for National as much as ZB and the Herald are, and the more people who watch TVOne News and Q+A and listen to Radio NZ as their news source, the better for the electorate.

  1. Access or not TV3 were always, always going to bad mouth the Labour Party. And how entirely predictable that the super bitchy mode was deployed upon rejection.

Seems no one wants a bar of TV3 anymore except National and how bad has that been for business?

  2. But , but I thought Paul Henry and ‘Duncs’ were the Gods of broadcasting and were going bring something new and ‘edgy’ to the table.
Remember Paul ‘the legend’ promised “mornings would never be the same”.
Well I guess he’s right if no ones watching you.
And of course this will all eventually work out as Mark and Jules know eeeeevvverything there is to know about broadcasting and as he once ran a casino called the NZ stock exchange, for which he awarded himself a big fat ‘leaving bonus’ because apparently ,”it was hard work”.
    Oooh ,what a trooper.
Yes, he was definitely well suited for the new job and got a reference from that nice Mr Key.
Oooh, but everyone’s just soooo unappreciative of his efforts to ‘grow the business’.
I think he deserves another ‘leaving bonus’ just to show that there’s no hard feelings. And besides, the vineyard in Wanaka is calling.
TV One now have a chance to finish TV3 off completely by getting rid of Mike Hosking and Rawdon Christie .
With those two still there TV3 still have a glimmer of hope but it’s fading fast !

  3. Whatever happens down at TV3, with management’s current fixation with Paul Henry, I am convinced that, even while they are going down the gurglar, they will be still be perfecting their whipping technique by flogging that dead horse.
