Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

Moderation rules are more lenient for this section, but try and play nicely.

Hey everyone, thank you for contacting us with the problems you are having at the moment with posting comments.

While you may be told your message has been trashed or disallowed or denied, they are in fact all remaining on site.

TDB Recommends NewzEngine.com

So please be patient and your comments will turn up.

We are working on the problem and will have a solution soon.

PS -While we are having this discussion about comments, we have always felt moderated comments were a way to go to avoid trolling. The Internet can be a pretty rude place at times so we wanted to try and reduce that.

How would everyone feel about

a) Direct posts to blogs.

b) Moderation after publishing (if we went down this path we would need volunteer moderators).

c) We are going to start clamping down more on personal abuse between commentators and would like to open up thoughts form you the readers about what you would like to see in terms of comments and what the rules should be.

Please leave comments below. Thoughts on what we will do will be published middle of next month.

Cheers TDB Team

  1. Falling Meat and Milk prices in Europe…farmers take action

    https://www.rt.com/news/314628-protest-brussel-water-attack/

….”Green MEP Molly Scott Cato added that EU agriculture ministers “clearly need to provide urgent assistance to those farmers hit by the crisis of overproduction and plummeting prices.”….

(Clearly in New Zealand government farmer assistance is better than selling New Zealand farms and their assets eg Silver Fern Farms off to the Chinese!… and other foreigners ( who is this benefiting and why…certainly NOT New Zealand farmers and New Zealanders!)

…we should also be looking forge markets with the Russians ( John Key put Fonterra off doing this!) …Russia is open to New Zealand agricultural produce and dairy and have banned European farmer produce… in retaliation for the USA politically inspired EU placing boycotts on Russian trade…many European farmers and politicians from European countries want agriculture trade with Russia to resume!

In Europe governments do NOT sell off their farmers, farm land and farming assets to foreigners as easily as this jonkey Nactional government does!

New Zealand farmers should be voting NZF or Labour or Green if they want to retain their land and assets…certainly NOT Nactional)

  2. Yet another death in Upper Hutt – the result of Police attending an incident involving an armed man presenting (and firing) a gun.
Somehow we all seem to have lost the plot. There’ll be all the usual crap from both sides: Police Union (‘association’) advocating further armaments for the Police – challenged by opponents who will no doubt present valid statistics to support the idea that this isn’t necessary.

Can we just take a step back instead of this endless pursuit in upping the ante.

How about that quaint old idea of an WELL PUBLICISED amnesty for a couple of months whereby those in possession of weapons have the opportunity to hand them in. Perhaps initially in an anonymous fashion for a couple of months, followed by an extension whereby those late to respond come under closer scrutiny.
After that, a total crackdown using whatever reasonabe means it takes. (I’ve one or two ideas as to who might be targeted, and they don’t JUST involve ‘the usual suspects’ one might suspect – like gangs, etc).

Perhaps a better approach rather than just being content with an escalation in weaponry that is bound to occur under current policy. It doesn’t all have to be an inevitability but we’re sure as hell headed in that direction, and I suspect under the current regime – any decision to arm Police with guns will simply be by the equivalent of an executive order rather than by a democratic process. IF that does occur, I hope a new gubbamint has the balls to rescind such decision (tho’ looking at current candidates, I doubt that’ll occur)
    Thoughts anyone?
