What’s the difference between the Edge Radio Show and Graham Lowe?

One probably thinks fellating vegetables is hilarious and the other is an annoyingly sexist radio station.

Graham Lowe’s view that Jacinda Ardern is a pretty little thing manages to rewind 100 years of universal suffrage while the Edge’s party trick of getting women to suck cucumbers reminds me why I never listen to the bloody Edge.

You get the feeling that under Helen Clark, this shit just wouldn’t have been considered acceptable, that her presence was enough to keep sexist pigs quiet, but when you have a Prime Minister who thinks pulling the pony tail of a waitress 10 separate times is fun, the standards seem to have slipped considerably.

I think Lowe should stick to League and the Edge should just suck a cucumber permanently so we don’t have to hear anything from the cultural and political wasteland they represent.

    • Rugby League is the bastion of working class New Zealanders Jack. You and your elitist horse shit can get fucked.

      • Level of intelligence of the average League Player is way below the IQ of other sports in NZ hence these childlike comments from both yourself and Graham Lowe. League is a game for meatheads and hence is sponsored by the Mad Butcher.

        • League is a game and a lot of people enjoy it (including my family), dissing them as dumb is arrogant fuckwit behaviour.

While there are many people associated with the game who are sexist pigs, there is no reason to insult the fans.

  1. I agree that the social milieu is much less respectful to and of women than it was a few years ago.
Time for a change I think

  2. yep, sexist oafs are in vogue again, note that the pony tail puller in chief has not been asked to do the Edge “cucumber test”

the backward slide was obvious when CERA CEO Rog Sutton was outed for “full body press hugs” and other unwanted attention to female staff only–in the street TV interviewees struggled to find anything wrong with Sutton’s behaviour–rather than instantly seeing the out of kilter power relationship when a powerful man forces attention on a female underling

    stand up, fight back!

    • So, the cucumber-eating contest eh?

Were politicians part of this “misogynistic spectacle”?

I imagine some politicians on the right could devour a cucumber side on without touching the sides, instead of end-on.

  3. Graham Lowe’s comment about Jacinda Ardern was disgraceful, basing her credibility on her looks and appearance only and not her intellectual ability!

And in Parliament yesterday, NatzKEY goaded Jacinda, when she got up to speak at question time! She wasn’t impressed at all and I thought she was going to walk out. Jacinda looked at the Speaker with a face like thunder and who can blame her? But she carried on with dignity and class, able to look her opponents in the eye as she questioned NatzKEY.

As to be expected the Speaker failed to address NatzKEY’s goading of Ms Ardern! Very poor administration by Carter!

Obviously NatzKEY MPs prompted by rent-a-rag NZH’s piece attempting to destabilize the present Labour leadership, by talking up Jacinda’s rise in the polls as preferred PM and Lowe’s sexist remarks.

    • Carter ancestors came on the first ships he is of the upper class Canterbury Old Boy network where women are second class citizens.
Stiff upper lip old boy. Women are just playthings/toys.

    • Maaaat….maaaat ….maaaat.

You should be feeling very sheepish right now considering your blind allegiance to Key and the other Lowe redneck, misogynists….

    • That’s ‘lie down’ Matt, l-i-e. Interestingly, ‘Lie’ can also be defined as an intentionally false statement, much like the kind our current P.M favours whenever he’s put on the spot over his policy. For your information Lye is a strongly alkaline solution. Have a nice day!

    • Matt – that’s ‘lie’, spelt l-i-e, not lye. Lye is a strongly alkaline solution. Lie, interestingly, can also be defined as an intentionally false or untrue statement, much like the ones our current P.M favours when called upon to account for his policy, staff accountability or anything, really. Hope this clears things up for you. Have a nice day!

  4. Ha ha. See the right wing sexist redneck knobs are out and about responding to this blog, doing what they do best, the thumbs down thing. Good. Keep it up guys, because you are increasing the visitor numbers to this site and that a good for TDB 🙂

    • Absolutely correct Mary_A. Ever since the performance of Shonkey and the Nats has gone down hill, Mediaworks website’s comment section has disappeared. You will note an increase in comments from the neoliberalists.

      • You got that one right JOHAN. MediaWorks isn’t the only site either. I’m noticing more and more “compatible and acceptable” comments being posted on msm, at the expense of alternative views, which seem to be dwindling now.

My comments on msm sites aren’t even published now, despite being softer and diluted versions of what I write here. Haven’t been since early this year, despite not being advised by NZH and Stuff that my comments will no longer be welcome. But that’s OK, because I’m obviously not the only one having been culled out.

What really gets me is this. When there are opinions invited on a particular topic which involves this government and its deceptive leader, the comments are closed off very early!

Obviously giving the masses something to think about, through alternative perspectives, is not conducive to a happy leader and his motley mob of miscreants.

        • John Key is in control of the media he does not waant anyone thinking for themselves, let him and his cronies do the thinking for us.

I still would like to know where the $100 billion National has borrowed, where it has actually been spent?

  6. Matt – I think you mean ‘lie’, spelt l-i-e – as opposed to lye, which is a strongly alkaline solution. Interestingly, ‘lie’ is also definable as a deliberate untruth or falsehood – much like those our P.M is wont to propagate when quizzed on policy, the economy or the behavior of his staff and supporters in social media circles. Hope this clears things up for you. Happy to help and have a nice day!

  7. Notice John Keys T-shirt, I still can’t believe how David Cunliffe was ridiculed for his apology about men being rapists.

Confession time ! I gloat when Labour gets into government and the business lobby sulks, their pained squeals are music to my ears. Maybe this will happen before 2020
