Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

Moderation rules are more lenient for this section, but try and play nicely.

Hey everyone, thank you for contacting us with the problems you are having at the moment with posting comments.

While you may be told your message has been trashed or disallowed or denied, they are in fact all remaining on site.

TDB Recommends NewzEngine.com

So please be patient and your comments will turn up.

We are working on the problem and will have a solution soon.

PS -While we are having this discussion about comments, we have always felt moderated comments were a way to go to avoid trolling. The Internet can be a pretty rude place at times so we wanted to try and reduce that.

How would everyone feel about

a) Direct posts to blogs.

b) Moderation after publishing (if we went down this path we would need volunteer moderators).

c) We are going to start clamping down more on personal abuse between commentators and would like to open up thoughts form you the readers about what you would like to see in terms of comments and what the rules should be.

Please leave comments below. Thoughts on what we will do will be published middle of next month.

Cheers TDB Team

    • +100…interesting philip ure…I have to admit I was so tired through physical work and looking after the interests of an elderly mother …on that Saturday of the TPPA march…i couldnt face the hour of travel into the city and then a walk in the rain…instead I lay down on the couch and slept ( I thought to myself… it is a young persons game and a live in the city game…and remembered all the previous marches of my youth…which were a social occasion as well as a moral one)

protest marches are like a virus which infects the whole of society( or at least they used to)… one mitigating issue for the effectiveness of marches and poor attendance these days I think is computers and social media…people are caught up in a virtual reality with virtual friends and virtual politics…which have of course their counterpart in the REAL world

imo however give it time…people will reach a point when the REAL world impinges so much and so badly on their virtual world that they burst through into action and governments will be called to account or risk a huge escalation in civil disobedience

imo…this will happen sooner if there is spying, censorship and the taking down of blog sites like this by an authoritarian fascist state…

  1. Episode 800

    http://www.rt.com/shows/keiser-report/313095-episode-max-keiser-800/

“In this special episode of the Keiser Report from Miami, Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert discuss Miami’s fear of that good old capitalist thing – competition – coming from Cuba. The city is struggling to find sand in order to compete with the finer beaches of their new friend and competitor. In the second half, Max interviews Steve Dibert of MFI-Miami.com about mojitos, fraud arbitrage and whatever happened to Mers.”

  2. In BREAKING NEWS …….
As Stock Markets continue to tumble (“on the back of” the Choynoise selloff …. going forward), New Zealand’s Proim Munster John Koi says he’s saddened by the news of One Direction’s split up.
This is a sad day indeed.
John Key understands the devastation fans are feeling by the split.
“These are trying times” said the charasmetuk Key – whose known to be ‘down with the kuds’ and whose own son is a d d d d D JAY!!!
His Munster for Arts in Kulcha (Krus Finlay-Sin) concurred with his leaders’s comments

  3. In light of once was tim’s post – Maybe we should put the cover of the NZ woman’s weekly on the new flag.

  4. Wed 26th August.

Read Bryan Goulds article in Herald,First truthful and intelligent article for a long time.
Practically all comments on the article are negative for Key,the odd Nat denial blaming Labour (what else have they got?)
Now because Dairy has sold out to China and ruined Nz .Key has sold anything of value ie houses, land, farms businesses.he is trying to sell tourism, just another bribe to get more Chinese tourists to check out our goodies.
One comment cites a Chinese wealthy business man coming to NZ and living off welfare for years,as unemployed, yet or own people are refused help. Key has sold us out to Chinese cleverness.
Most people except the pigheaded who hate to be proved wrong, are onto the National con trick or incompetent business practices.
Time for a change ,but fear its too late for NZ,China has made a fool of our government ,tricked them with milk contract in return for letting Chinese buy what they like in NZ,some of the money made from drugs
dumped in NZ for more profit, buying and selling the same house for more profit to other wealthy Chinese over and over, by doing so they allow more illicit money to enter NZ.

Ordinary Chinese immigrants are not the problem, they will suffer for Keys bad decisions as everyone else.

Other countries refuse to allow Chinese takeover without being labelled racist, its such an old chestnut used by people to shut down dissent.Bryan Gould has written about the toxicity of TPP and other trade agreements, well worth reading.
