Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

Moderation rules are more lenient for this section, but try and play nicely.

Hey everyone, thank you for contacting us with the problems you are having at the moment with posting comments.

While you may be told your message has been trashed or disallowed or denied, they are in fact all remaining on site.

TDB Recommends NewzEngine.com

So please be patient and your comments will turn up.

We are working on the problem and will have a solution soon.

PS -While we are having this discussion about comments, we have always felt moderated comments were a way to go to avoid trolling. The Internet can be a pretty rude place at times so we wanted to try and reduce that.

How would everyone feel about

a) Direct posts to blogs.

b) Moderation after publishing (if we went down this path we would need volunteer moderators).

c) We are going to start clamping down more on personal abuse between commentators and would like to open up thoughts form you the readers about what you would like to see in terms of comments and what the rules should be.

Please leave comments below. Thoughts on what we will do will be published middle of next month.

Cheers TDB Team

  1. Kathryn Ryan had an interesting discussion yesterday on what the TPPA means for patents and copyright( this distinction is interesting..you patent an idea and you copyright your utilisation of the idea ) and new technology/ businesses/startups in New Zealand. I think it is in this link

    Also this is of interest;

In 2010 the US was waging warfare against Iran over its nuclear programme through a computer virus that affected a uranium enrichment plant. Stuxnet was the world’s first digital weapon which was designed to exploit certain industrial systems. In her book Countdown to Zero Day, technology and cybercrime journalist Kim Zetter explores how the Stuxnet virus was executed and discovered – and what it means for digital warfare and the targeting of vulnerable utility systems like nuclear plants, power grids and oil pipelines.

  2. Had an email today from Tim Groser explain that the TPP will be good for NZ,saying it would create jobs and bring money in with exports.Groser dosnt tell us the downside and we all know there will be lots of downsides.
TPP is not good for NZ ,only for corporations ,they wrote the TPP to suit themselves.
They are part of the ONE World Order and JK wants a piece of the action,if he hands us over ,his rewards will be great, thats all hes interested in. Key will lie to us to convince us to go along,we have let him know through protests ,which he arrogantly called “rent a crowd”
Key wasn’t interested in our concerns, hes never taken a minute to listen to them.
Key and Groser are determined to get their own way whatever the cost.
If and when they get their own way,we can picture them smirking at us to show us they were more powerful than us. How can two men of ill will get the better of the majority of the country?
We have to work harder to convince them to stop.
