Why the Greens were damned when they didn’t and damned when they did

The Greens were damned when they stood against this inane waste of time to ensure NZers can get drunk during a rugby match and damned when they stood aside so NZers could get drunk during a rugby match game.

That’s political journalism these days.

In NZ, asking why on earth we need to take up the precious time of Parliament to ensure laws can be passed under urgency so that Pubs and Bars can stay open to get people drunk during a Rugby game  creates the sort of backlash Lenny Kravitz opening for a KKK rally would attract.

Pity we can’t go into urgency to legislate for the 250 000 kids in poverty or the freezing cold state homes that kill or real climate change laws or real scrutiny of the TPPA  hu?

Another win for Booze and Rugby in the Land of the wrong uptight crowd.

  1. Makes you feel proud, doesn’t it.

Jeez, no wonder the rest of the world are laughing at us…

I,m sure these are the boozey knuckle-draggers that constitute “middle new zild” where all the electoral power comes from.

    Yuck…

  2. The UK passed very simimlar legislation when the Football World Cup was played in Brazil. Did the world laugh at them for this? Did it lead to an explosion in drunken revellers in the early hours?
