Did the Key Government suggest to Saudi Businessman that he could sue us?

The Green Party are ripping Key to shreds by referencing a letter they have seen that suggests the National Government recommended to Hmood Alali Alkhalaf that he sue the NZ Government over our ban on live sheep exports…

A letter obtained by the Green Party from Brownrigg Agriculture – which is part-owned by a company owned by Alkhalaf – to McCully, dated November 2011, stated: “[Alkhalaf] feels that if this the case then he would have no option but to seek commercial redress, as indeed has been suggested by your Government as a last resort option for him.”

…if this is true, it’s beyond damaging. Our Government recommended to Hmood Alali Alkhalaf that he sue us and we coughed up an $11.5 million bribe??? It’s bewildering and requires an urgent investigation.

This is the Government NZers voted for? If the Left had pulled something like this, there would be screams from the mainstream media, Key does this and we get a muted non-interest in it.

This is what casual corruption looks like.

  1. Agree totally. The lack of media coverage of this high-level corruption is beyond outrageous. Instead, what do we get on the news? Bloody Colon Craig and the Conservatives. They are not even in parliament. They have no influence on policy. Why do they get the coverage? Is it because of the slightly salacious, gossipy nature of the “story”? Do they think we care?
    Missing Campbell Live.

  2. Right wing governments are probably studying Key’s style even as we read this. This is how corrupt governments get away with sh*t; distract, distract, distract, with copious amounts of Reality TV and an unfeasibly populist leader.

    Orwell got it so wrong.

  3. What really happened for National to be paying off this Saudi minister with taxpayer money?

We’ve had different stories from Key and McCully, but none appear true and trying to get a straight word out of any of that lot will be impossible!

The one version from whatever source it was, was that Key made promises to this minister whilst in opposition regarding sheep exports but his word wasn’t worth a pile of sheep dung. But that raises even more questions. Why was our corner cutting, personal fortune making , shady deal making PM to be, talking to this guy anyway, whilst in opposition? Was Key there in a personal capacity to further his own business interests?

This is the problem, the real reason for this bribe hidden in a cloud of lies. It probably has absolutely nothing to do with the betterment of New Zealands interests and everything to do with Key and National Inc’s betterment!

  4. Go Back to Sleep New Zealand, your government has everything under control. We have “Come Dine with Me” running on all channels. Go back to sleep New Zealand. . .

  5. PonyTail Key only loyalty is to himself.
The last 5 businesses he was in ended up bankrupt.
He is doing the same to NZ, he has no credibility,
if anything he is boarder line psychotic, lacking empathy and
his pulling of girls ponytails shows lack of control with his fetish.
The only way National will get ride of him is too give him a knighthood.
Its patentally a fiction that Groser hasnt talked nz dairy for the TPPA,
he has excluded NZ dairy from extremely poor trade deal.
NZs going to be asset stripped within 5 years.
