Beyond all the ‘something must be dones’, beyond all the use of ‘barbarians’ to describe our enemy and beyond all the ‘ISIS are cruel and evil’ bullshit to justify this war is the painful pus filled truth that the allies Key has signed us up to are brutal butchers and killers who have helped shape the very conditions out of which ISIS have sprung.
We are on the side of the Syrians who have tortured to death tens of thousands of their own. We are on the side of Iraq whose brutal crackdown on the Sunni led to ISIS gaining power in the first place. We are on the side of brutal Iranian backed Shia militia who are slaughtering people, beheading them, throwing them off tall buildings, and putting their crimes on social media.
Rather than joining these murderers and pretending it’s for justice, we should be using our new position on the UN to highlight America’s allies – Saudi Arabia and Turkey, as funders of ISIS.
While in Afghanistan, NZ soldiers illegally handed over civilians to known torture units, effectively contravening the Geneva Convention. In that war we propped up a corrupt Afghan narco state. In Iraq, Key has allied us with feral dictators and paramilitary death squads.
No amount of Key generated domestic anti-muslim hysteria can paper over the fact that we are allied with groups as horrific as the ones we are supposed to be fighting.
How dare the sleepy hobbits of muddle Nu Zilind stand to attention on ANZAC Day and claim to honour the dead when under Key, we have clearly learnt nothing.

I see no one has answered this post all day.
Maybe it is the picture or that some are war weary as well.
Look, it is not just the west’s allies that are funding ISIS and co.
The West have been training them,advising them and providing them
with arms VIA Saudi Arabia etc and by taking out Saddam Hussain they
new all this would happen. I posted two articles from GlobalResearch
on the matter.
You can’t really blame Shia for trying to get their own back on Sunni
because of what happened under Saddam.
The West have always backed Sunni against Shia and that history
is long and torturous. Iraq-Iran war the West backed Saddam.
Think about their conflict in terms of Catholic against Protestants to keep it simple.
The West would have known that democratic elections would result
in Shia in Gvt because they make up 60% of the population.
It has always been a model of the ‘powers that be’ to encourage
two factions or nations to fight and weaken one another and then
come in and take over.
WW2 a prime example, and it will be a surprise to many and I expect to get criticized for it,especially with ANZAC day approaching.
