  1. I don’t think anyone “rests in peace” – they either don’t exist at all or they have moved on to another place in their never ending journey through infinity. So why put a full stop at the end of someone’s existence in this life with a meaningless cliche that doesn’t make sense in terms of any line of religious thought whatsoever (unless you believe life is shit and you are glad it is over for them).

  2. I feel sorry for Robin’s wife, she’s the one left picking up the pieces.
Depression is an insidious condition that can destroy it’s host. Robin battled it throughout his life and I guess the battle just got too hard.

I have 2 kids in their 30s fighting this battle. I worry .

  3. So sad to see a person with such talent go like this. I marvelled about how many different roles and characters he could play and make them all seem so natural and real. He enriched the lives of so many people with his acting but in the end it was the demon inside that got him. I hope he finds peace now.

    • @MIKE THE LEFTY – perhaps the mental torment from which Robin Williams suffered, gave him the special gift he had, that allowed so many of us to enjoy his movies and his comedy.

It’s both an ironic and tragic situation, because a lot of great comedians suffer from mental health issues. Their “madness” for want of a better word and I say that with respect, exposes an amazing talent of pure genius, that enables them to give so much joy and happiness to others, something obviously sadly lacking in their own lives.

Sometimes I think Robin Williams’ humorous way of making the rest of the world laugh, was perhaps an attempt to reach out, desperate for someone to make him happy and give him reason to smile.

      So sad.

  4. Fantastic scene. How great was Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting. Not to forget Mrs Doubtfire. I grew up on Mork & Mindy. Wonderful actor. RIP Mr Williams

  5. Lost for words, really; I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to watch any of his movies again.. there’s so much pain behind the comedy..
