Gaza conflict: Israel restarts air strikes amid rocket fire

three Jewish teenagers, Naftali Fraenkel, Gilad Shaer and Eyal Yifrah were kidnapped on 12th June. Israel blamed Hamas, Hamas were adamant that they had nothing to do with it.
The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) responded with a huge manhunt called Operation Brother’s Keeper that created a large amount of destruction in the areas searched and resulted in the arrest of 350 Palestinians and the deaths of 5. Israel’s over the top response to the 3 teenagers has helped generate this backlash and that is often overlooked in any of the current coverage, once the 3 boys were found dead, there was a copy cat kidnapping and murder of 3 Palestinian teenagers.
…so the birth of this latest terrible violence is Apartheid Israel’s usual aggressive over reaction to the symptoms that erupt from their illegal occupation of Palestine. To date we now have over 170 Palestinians dead, 1100 Palestinians injured and thousands forced from their homes. Israel has suffered one death. That’s not an eye for an eye, it’s an eye for an eye, most of the chin and half the face.
So when will a NZ Political Party show some actual ethics on this issue and demand the Apartheid Israel Embassy be closed down and expelled from Wellington? Helen Clark had the courage to kick Israel out of NZ over their spys trying to steal our passports, but of course the gutless National Party quickly let Israel back into NZ.
National’s spineless acquiescence to America means we have to bow to Israel as well, so in an election year, which Political Party will show some actual independent foreign policy and expel the Apartheid Israeli embassy for their ongoing occupation and crimes against the Palestinian people?
It’s time for NZ to reclaim it’s reputation as being a fair global citizen and denounce Apartheid Israel for its mindless ongoing violence. Nothing says we aren’t America’s gimp more clearly than sending their 51st State packing.

You have a smart tactic there to advance Mana, as you well know, Shearer will never do so. Good try though. Labour always try to have it “all ways” or “both ways”, too often, I am afraid.
Yep, the incessant ‘trade deal” chattery, and endless apologistic bullshit we get from this and previous governments has to stop. We need to send a clear signal to Israel, and the people in the Near East, that we want human rights honoured, we want democracy and more, not just for the privileged, US “sponsored” better off Israeli citizens that came with the Zionist occupation there.
It will have to be tough medicine for all, Arabs, Jews and minorities, but unless a rigorous settlement holding ALL to account is achieved, we will have a massive blood bath and genocide ahead of us.

Until the blockade on Gaza is lifted and the settlements in the West Bank are removed, we should have no truck with the State of Israel.
