Thanks to the many bloggers and readers who made The Daily Blog the largest left wing blog in NZ with our 3rd place ranking on the June Blog rankings with almost 18 000 more than The standard…

…that translated into 345266 page views, the highest amount TDB has had since launching. From all the bloggers who post here, we thank our readers very much for their support. For a blog that has only been operational for a year and has a far smaller digital footprint than The standard, Kiwiblog or Whaleoil, 3rd place is an achievement.

    • Whale Oil “be fooked” actual readership can be argued about with it’s click bait methods, but yes Kiwi and Whalespew are sizeable.

      • which is why the Daily Blog and Standard and those thereabouts are so important.
      • left leaning people also are more likely to do things in the real world away from the screen

The Daily Blog range of writers means both variety and lower burnout rates hopefully for the dedicated posters. Well done Bomber, supporters and readers.

    • I struggle to understand how almost half the NZ population has visited that site in the past month. Considering that hit rate is close to double that of the election result of the right bloc, and I doubt even half of those who vote for right-wing parties have an interest in political blogs…

  1. It shows the level of intellect here in NZ with Whale Oil and Kiwiblog at No 1 & 2, the level of intelligent comment on those 2 sites is quite something, entertaining reading and definitely not sites for those with a social conscience.

  2. Hmmmm, interesting what with the number of negative votes.

Someone in the opposing camps seem to be a tad nervous…?

    As for Whaleoil’s unfeasibly high clicks… Hmmmm…

  3. The Daily Blog is one of the few blogs where anyone can make a comment about anything without pre-registration. It means that you get a few right-wing drongos like IV and the Gooseman but it also gives a unique opportunity for comment without recrimination or censorship (other than self-imposed common courtesy).Try doing that on Kiwiblog or Whaleoil. They are afraid of someone slipping through the safety net and putting the truth on their blog. Can’t have the truth on a right-wing blog can we?
Anyway congratulations team! Keep up the good work.

  4. Great stuff guys. Keep it going. TDB does an excellent job, so this piece of news is hardly surprising 🙂

Must be a lot of Whaleoil/Nasty party/ACT predators out there, trolling about to see what real news is, given the number of thumbs down ratings on this site! But without doubt, some of their rabid comments demonstrate the intelligence of TDB and all its supporters who contribute to its ongoing success.

    Go TDB 🙂

  5. Thanks to everyone who helps put together The Daily Blog. Until Citizen A and then The Daily Blog, I never heard anyone in the media saying what I was thinking.
