Since the Labour Party spokesperson on Sport is busy undermining, perhaps MANA would like this Rugby idea?

In regards to this whole All Blacks visiting Samoa issue. Couldn’t it be argued by a progressive spokesperson for Sport that the All Blacks doing a tour of the South Pacific would actually be of huge cultural and sporting importance and something the Government should sponsor with taxpayer dollars to help subsidise the costs to the All Blacks as a sign of respect to the sporting and cultural contribution Pacific Island nations have provided NZ?

Why shouldn’t we use Rugby as a diplomatic tool to build standing throughout the Pacific?

Since the Labour Party spokesperson on Sport is busy undermining, perhaps MANA would like this Sporting policy? Having Minto who spent much of his life connecting politics and Rugby champion an All Black tax funded tour of the Pacific nations would be a wonderful twist.

  1. What are you on and where can I get some?
The All Blacks are a global brand not a kiwi cultural icon any more, be a lot more fun if it was the Maori All Blacks.

    • The Maori All Blacks have played in Samoa in the recent past as has the Junior All Blacks. The Samoan government and Samoan Rugby Football Union want the real deal not the Maori team.

  2. The All Black management are a disgrace. They got how much tax payer money due the world cup. No the govt has ploughed in enough. They might just have to take a hit inthe pocket to and rearrange their timetable. They are full of excuses, all of them lame.

    • The All Blacks got no taxpayers money due to the World cup. The funding the Government provided was either involved in infrastructure or to help cover the shortfall in revenue so the NZRFU could pay the IRB for the right to host the cup.

  3. Leave the management of the All Blecks out of it.

John Key will save Samoa from the corporate greed of AIG. (insert: Tiwai Point, Skycity, Warner Brothers).

It’s a perfectly organised, orchestrated election opportunity, culminating in a ‘national duty to tour by the All Blecks if National is elected in 2014’

Problem solved. But if National continues with the ETS and not a fair price for carbon polluters, the Samoa game will be the first ever under seawater rugby metch.

One downer was that Campbell Live was duped into stirring up the Samoa rugby issue just before JK left for Samoa. Shoulda seen that one coming JC!
